The Block host Scott Cam has made a brutal comment about Han and Can’s house, revealing one feature would ruin it for him if he were a buyer. And the viewers at home agree.
Speaking about the girls’ kitchen during walkthroughs, Scotty was left a bit shocked to discover how low down the girls’ rangehood is. He didn’t mince his words, telling them, “If I was a buyer, I know this is a terrible thing to say, I couldn’t buy this house, because of that.”
The girls appeared shocked (or annoyed… or both), as Scotty continued, “If I’m cooking, I’m going to hit my head!”
“You think it’s too big or too low?” Shelley Craft questioned.
“Well, lucky you’re not in the running for this house, Scotty,” Can told the cameras.
“But Scotty’s not the buyer,” she said to his face, to which he replied, “No, that’s right. And with any luck, there’s a whole bunch of really short people that come in here to look at this house.”
“This would be perfect for Shaynna [Blaze],” Han added.
“Yes, it would be,” Scotty said awkwardly.

The Block viewers took to social media, with many agreeing with Scotty.
One viewer wrote, “And Scotty is spot on and show some respect girls because come Sunday you are going to be hearing lots of criticism about your massive rangehood, especially from [Marty Fox].”

“I love their house, but that rangehood is a deal breaker. Why would you think that height is OK?” another said. “This will affect the selling of the house.”
“It’s ridiculous!” a third said.
“It’s too low, borderline dangerous!” someone else added.
“These two girls are so disrespectful to Scotty!” another wrote.

“It is the most impractical thing on The Block ever,” one passionate viewer said. “I’m short and I’d still hit my head on it. You couldn’t lean over and look in your pots and if you tried to you’d get burnt from the steam because you’d be nearly climbing in the pots.”
However, some suggested Scotty was just picking on the girls, saying Robby and Mat had a similar height rangehood and he didn’t say anything to them.
“The boys’ rangehood looked just as low as the girls’ rangehood but Scotty didn’t see or mention it… favourites or not?” one viewer wrote.
“Definitely favouritism,” another agreed.
“Scotty always picks on the girls,” a third said.
