She might not be on The Project anymore following the show’s cancellation in June, but Channel 10 is making sure that Georgie Tunny isn’t going anywhere. The TV journalist and podcast host has just announced her fourth new gig on the network as host of The Brighter Side, a weekly program helping viewers tackle financial challenges.

Georgie, who was also recently announced as a presenter on 10 News+narrator on House Hunters Australia, and contestant on the upcoming season of The Amazing Race Australia with her partner Rob Mills, will be joined by 10 News’ Narelda Jacobs, chef Adam Liaw, and CommBank personal finance expert Jessica Irvine for the show’s second season. The series aims to help “inform and empower everyday Aussies to live smarter and take control of their financial future”.

The first season of The Brighter Side aired in May 2024, while the second season is set to return on Friday, 5 September, at 8:30pm.

“Welcome to The Brighter Side, where you’ll meet Australians from all over who discover practical ways to make ends meet,” Georgie said in a teaser video for season one. “There’s also clever side hustles, affordable food the whole family will love, and simple money-saving tips.

“Each episode is packed with ideas that’ll boost your financial smarts and leave you feeling brighter about your budget.”

The announcement comes shortly after it was revealed that Georgie would be joining the network’s new current affairs program, 10 News+.

The show, hosted by Amelia Brace and Denham Hitchcock, premiered in June as The Project‘s replacement and airs six days a week at 6pm. Channel 10 shared in a statement last month that Georgie will bring her passion for sport, news, and storytelling to the program, covering the biggest stories and events in Australia and around the world.

“I’ve always been a fan of news delivered differently and am excited to be staying with the 10 family. Can’t wait to see where this new chapter leads!” she said.

Meanwhile, Waleed Aly and Sarah Harris have both left Channel 10 following The Project’s cancellation, and Sam Taunton is expected to continue making guest appearances across the network’s entertainment shows.
