A Married At First Sight star has applied for an apprehended violence order against his one-time on-screen partner.

Married At First Sight star Ryan Donnelly and his lawyer say they are “hopeful” an apprehended violence order application against his one-time on-screen partner Jacqui Burfoot can be resolved at mediation.

Mr Donnelly was initially coupled with Ms Burfoot on the popular Aussie TV program.

The pair shared a tumultuous on-screen relationship that Ms Burfoot ultimately chose to walk away from.

In the program’s Final Vows segment, she said “Ryan, in a world of red flags, you are the red carpet”, to which Mr Donnelly responded “Be gone with you, you horrible woman”.

Mr Donnelly has applied for an AVO, but it has not been granted at this stage.

He arrived at Campbelltown Local Court on Tuesday sporting a slick black suit and white collared shirt.

Mr Donnelly and Jacqui Burfoot shared a tumultuous on-screen relationship.
In court, Mr Donnelly’s solicitor Daniel Wakim and Ms Burfoot’s barrister Marcia Edwards agreed upon a mediation date in September.

“What we propose is to book in for a contested hearing early next year at the next available date,” Ms Edwards told the court.

“We hope to vacate that if mediation is successful.”

The matter was adjourned till January next year, unless the mediation in September is successful.

Mr Donnelly and Mr Wakim spoke with NewsWire outside court on Tuesday.

“Look I think … we’ve just gotten a hearing date set, and I think we’re all on the same page in relation to taking the matter to mediation and we’re hopeful to see how that turns out,” Mr Wakim said.

Mr Donnelly previously alleged outside court that Ms Burfoot had attempted to “destroy” his life.
