The annual Montreal Canadiens golf tournament is always a highlight for fans and media alike, offering rare access to the team’s biggest names just before the new season begins.

This year was no exception, with high-profile press conferences featuring everyone from Kent Hughes to Nick Suzuki, and plenty of headline-worthy moments.

Yet, amid all the excitement and anticipation, one glaring absence left fans and journalists buzzing with speculation: Kirby Dach was nowhere to be seen at the podium.

Despite being present at the event, Dach did not address the media—a move that immediately raised eyebrows and fueled countless rumors about his status and the team’s plans.

Was it a last-minute decision? Was there something the Canadiens didn’t want to reveal? Or could this be related to Dach’s health, his role on the team, or even something more dramatic behind the scenes?

Now, new information has emerged that finally sheds light on why Dach remained silent during such a crucial moment. But the real story might surprise you.

What kept him away from the microphones? And what does this mean for the Canadiens moving forward? Dive into the full article to uncover the truth behind Kirby Dach’s mysterious absence and what’s next for the talented forward.

Over the past few hours, the traditional annual golf tournament of the Montreal Canadiens took place.

On this occasion, several players and executives were made available (in press conferences) to answer journalists’ questions.

We notably got press conferences from Kent Hughes, Jeff Gorton, Geoff Molson, and Martin St-Louis, as well as several players, including Samuel Montembeault, Noah Dobson, Zachary Bolduc, Mike Matheson, Lane Hutson, Josh Anderson, and Nick Suzuki.

However, there were certain players who never appeared before the media, which sparked some reactions.

One of them was Kirby Dach, about whom we have so many questions, and it’s obvious that it would have been extremely interesting and relevant to have him at a press conference yesterday.

Why wasn’t Kirby Dach at the press conference yesterday?

He was definitely there..

Well, thanks to the excellent work of Charles-Alexis Brisebois (DansLesCoulisses), we now have an answer:

“The Habs had about an hour to have players speak at two podiums: one for the francophones and one for the anglophones.

The media on-site made requests to speak to certain guys first, which makes sense.

And a request came in for Dach.. but too late.

He was heading to a team meeting and didn’t have time to speak beforehand.”

That explains it.

It still would have been interesting to hear Dach answer questions, particularly regarding his health status, but I suppose it’s only postponed.

“One can still wonder why Dach (who the Habs didn’t hide) wasn’t requested before Brendan Gallagher, who had nothing new to say since his last public appearance.”

So, we’re likely to get updates from Dach as early as this Thursday.

Details to follow.
