Farmer Wants A Wife may be nearing the end of its 14th season, but the drama is only just beginning to ramp up after one of the farmers enjoyed a secret rendezvous with a past contestant.
Farmer Thomas, 35, revealed in Monday night’s episode that he secretly met up with Claire, who had left the farm the week before because she felt ‘self-conscious’ about the way she looked.
While catching up with farmers Tom and Corey for a drink, Thomas dropped the bombshell, confessing that the secret meet-up with Claire was his attempt to find closure after her exit.
However, after meeting with Claire behind Clarette’s back, Thomas was given the ‘cold shoulder’.
‘I’ve really dug myself a massive hole,’ Thomas told the other farmers.
‘I’ve realised how much I really care for her, and it kind of hurts me that I’ve put her in this situation.’

Recognising that he needed to smooth things over with her, Thomas pulled Clarette aside during her one-on-one interview to say sorry for his actions, adding that he only sees Claire as a ‘friend’.
But Clarette wasn’t going to let it slide that easy: ‘You were still prepared to take the risk of what we’ve got for that and that’s what I’m annoyed about,’ she told him.
Thomas then revealed his feelings for Clarette, saying that he could ‘picture a future’ with her.
‘I don’t think I’ve ever been as happy on the farm,’ he confessed.
‘I don’t want to let you go,’ he said, adding: ‘I’ll do anything’.
The farmer then took a knee as he offered Clarette a bouquet of flowers, which coaxed a laugh out of the blonde beauty.
Accepting his apology, Clarette gave he farmer an ultimatum.
‘Don’t mess it up,’ she told him, before the pair shared a sweet embrace.

Elsewhere in the episode, host Nat surprised the farmers with the arrival of a slew of potential new partners, causing tensions to soar amongst some of the ladies.
By the end of the night, each farmer would invite five women back to their farm.
Registered nurse Chloe made a beeline for Corey and the pair broke away from the group for a private chat, which was all it took for the farmer to go weak in the knees.
‘I sort of get lost in her eyes a little bit and her smile’ he said in his piece to camera.
‘It got pretty deep pretty quickly, I suppose, in the conversations,’ he added.
After contemplating her compatibility with Thomas and feeling the pressure of the new arrivals, Ellen made the decision to leave the show.
‘I’ve actually decided to go home. I think we had a really nice date, but I’m feeling like we’re not emotionally compatible,’ she said to Thomas, adding that their connection ‘wasn’t strong enough’.
Also feeling the pressure of the new group of women, Keeley decided to put her cards on the table and tell Corey where she stands.

‘I struggle to express how I feel sometimes, but like, I’m obviously very serious about you and I feel like I’m starting to fall a little bit for you,’ she confessed to Corey, who reciprocated her feelings.
After meeting the new arrivals and getting on well with police detective Mady, Tom decided be upfront with Emma about how he was feeling.
In his piece to camera, he admitted: ‘I’m just not feeling it’, before breaking things off with Emma.
By the end of the night, Farmer Corey had asked Chloe, Keeley, Jadee, Chelsea and Annie to go back to his farm, Farmer Tom had asked Georgie, Eliza, Mady, Tijan and Emily and Farmer Thomas had asked Clarette, Rachel, Laura, Jess and Tayla.
