It’s an impressive line-up this year!

A brand new line-up of contestants have willingly subjected themselves to renovation chaos in the 2025 season of The Block.

The Channel Nine season has ventured to the country tourist town, Daylesford in Victoria for its 21st season.

It wouldn’t be our favourite Block-site without returning hosts Scott Cam and Shelley Craft, who will be lending a helping hand to the new contestants.

““They’ve been, in my view, the best teams that we’ve ever had on The Block,” he told Yahoo Lifestyle. “That’s not to say that they’re not a punish at times. It’s not to say that they argue and fight with each other and other teams. It’s not to say that they don’t cause drama and they’re annoying.”

Lending their critical eye are judges Darren Palmer, Shaynna Blaze and Marty Fox.

However, there is quite the shake up happening on The Block 2025. When the contestants arrive at the site, only the frames will be completed, meaning the cladding, roof design and overall outside appearance will be up to the contestants.

“For the contestants it’s a fresh start every week,” Shelley Craft said.

“Rather than a dirty, grubby, messy start where they had to demolish a room and rebuild it in a week, to come into a clean frame is a much better mindset to be in.”

The Block 2025 will premiere on Sunday July 27, 2025, at 7:30pm on Channel Nine and 9Now.

Emma & Ben

Married couple from VIC

Emma and Ben know a little something about determination, considering they’ve applied for The Block seven times… As you can expect, they were over the moon when they finally made the cut.

The married couple have the most renovation experience out of all the contestants, having worked on two houses and another build. Emma, 33, and Ben, 32, were just 24 years old when they bought their first home and have shared their house-flipping experiences on social media ever since.

“My aunty flipped houses her whole life, she is probably our inspiration,” Ben said.

Emma is a dance teacher and is one of Australia’s best pole dancers, meanwhile, Ben is an engineer and aspiring firefighter.

Robby & Mat

Best mates from SA

The besties met 15 years ago in Adelaide when Mat was cutting Robby’s hair!

They admittedly have the least experience in renovation, nor as Mat ever watched an episode of The Block. It was actually Robby’s idea to apply while Mat was celebrating his 40th in Bali, Indonesia.

“I was sitting at home and my partner Alyssa said myself and Mat would be great on The Block and here we are,” Rob said.

Matt added: “If someone had told me with a crystal ball the likelihood of going on The Block or my house burning down, I would have said our house burning down.”

Robby, 37, is a barber is successful business owner, meanwhile, Mat, 41, is a well-known hairdresser and a business owner.

Sonny & Alicia

Married couple from QLD

This charismatic couple from Queensland are going to steal hearts! Sonny and Alicia have sacrificed time with their three children – Aria, Boston, and Koa – to compete in the 21st season of The Block.

But this isn’t the first time they’ve applied to compete on the renovation series series!

“I was really upset last year that we just missed out, so when we got the call to say we were in it was an amazing feeling,” Alicia confessed.

The lovebirds, who have been together for 14 years, have some experience in the building industry having built their current family home and have previously renovated a granny flat.

Sonny, 44, has worked as a plumber for the past 25 years, meanwhile, Alicia, 42, is a dental practice manager.

Han & Can

Couple from WA

Entering The Block with guns blazing is couple, Hannah and Candice who have dreamed of joining the renovation series.

“I have always wanted to do The Block but never had anyone to do it with,” Han said, with Can adding: “I’m creative at heart and have always had a love of real estate, so I thought why not?”

Hannah is a 29 year old geologist who loves getting on the tools after working with her father to renovate houses. Meanwhile, Candice is a 31 year old marketing and social media analyst.

Britt & Taz

Married couple from WA

Police officer couple Britt and Taz – both 30 years old – met ten years ago on Tinder! They’ve temporarily bid farewell to their two kids, Carter and Myla, to compete on The Block – a dream Britt has patiently waited many years for.

“I wanted to apply for The Block for years, but it was never the right timing,” Britt said. “The timing now is right.”

They haven’t fully renovated a home, but they’ve done plenty of little projects on their current and previous home including paving, landscaping, and window bench seats.
