Members of the Australian television and advertising industry are in mourning following the sudden death of long-time Network 10 sales leader Kat Droulers.

Droulers was in her 40s, and no cause of death has been revealed.

Staff at Paramount ANZ were informed of her passing on Tuesday morning during a video call led by Chief Sales Officer Rod Prosser.

Droulers was a fixture of the Queensland media scene for almost three decades.

From September 2018 until January this year, Droulers was Group Sales Manager at Ten’s Brisbane headquarters.

She had only recently been promoted to State Sales Director of Ad Sales at Paramount Australia, following the network’s acquisition of regional television licences from SCA and WIN.

MasterChef Australia was just one of the many shows she helped market to a wider audience.

‘I’ve worked with Kat for over 20 years in various capacities. I was thrilled to see her step into this leadership role in Queensland,’ Prosser said at the time of her promotion earlier this year.

General Manager of Ad Sales, Nick Bower, also praised her appointment, noting: ‘Kat brings an authenticity to her leadership that resonates strongly with both our team and our clients.’

Paramount described Droulers as one of the industry’s most generous and inspiring leaders.

‘For nearly three decades, Kat was beloved in the media landscape. She understood that great sales isn’t about the pitch – it’s about people,’ they said.

‘She was a relationship builder, possessing that rare ability to transform business partnerships into genuine friendships built on trust, authenticity and mutual respect.

‘As a mentor, Kat was generous with her time, wisdom and encouragement. She had an instinctive understanding of how to elevate those around her, approaching challenges with creativity, optimism and an unwavering belief in her team’s potential.

‘Her legacy lives on in the countless careers she influenced, the partnerships she nurtured, and the standard of excellence and humanity she brought to every interaction.

‘She will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.’

Droulers’ received recognition for her industry achievements, including a nomination in this year’s B&T’s Women in Media Awards.

Colleagues remember her as a mentor who nurtured young talent, and as a leader who balanced confidence with compassion.

Tributes have since poured in from across the television community.

Many have described Droulers’ passing as a huge loss for TVQ, Paramount and the wider advertising industry.
