In over a century of NHL history, we’ve seen legendary goaltenders and unbelievable hot streaks, but what Montreal Canadiens prospect Jakub Dobes just accomplished is something truly unprecedented. The young Czech netminder has etched his name into the league’s record books with a feat so unique and statistically bizarre, it has never been seen before. This isn’t just about winning a few games; it’s a statistical anomaly that speaks to a level of consistency and dominance from a rookie that defies all modern expectations.

While the Canadiens are enjoying a surprisingly dominant start to the season under Martin St-Louis, sitting atop the Atlantic Division, it’s Dobes who is stealing the headlines. Last year, he stunned the hockey world with a remarkable run. Now, he’s done it again, repeating the accomplishment in a way that has left analysts and historians scrambling to find a precedent—only to discover there isn’t one. He has become the first rookie in the history of the game to achieve this incredible milestone, a record that may never be broken. Just what did he do to make history? The details are even more impressive than you can imagine.

Nothing seems to be able to stop Jakub Dobes and the Montreal Canadiens at the start of this season.

The young Czech goaltender has just accomplished something completely unprecedented in the history of the National Hockey League.

According to many sources, Jakub Dobes has become the first rookie in history to start two consecutive seasons with a perfect 5-0-0 record, all while still maintaining his rookie status.

That’s a crazy statistic!

I think it’s such an exceptional accomplishment that shows just how much his talent – and especially his consistency – are impressing everyone in Montreal.

Jakub Dobes Makes NHL History and Leads the Montreal Canadiens to New Heights

At only 24 years old, the goaltender from Ostrava continues to deliver, night after night!

Of course, last year he had already surprised the hockey world by winning his first five NHL starts.

And now, he’s repeating the same feat this season, with a goals-against average of 1.77 and a save percentage of .940.

“There has never been a rookie who started two straight seasons with five perfect wins. It’s never been seen before,” reported Samuel Doiron.

In my opinion, since the start of the season under Martin St-Louis’ leadership, the Canadiens have been playing inspired hockey.

The team currently sits atop the Atlantic Division – something we haven’t seen in a very long time.

As for Dobes, he’s playing like a veteran. He never panics, and his teammates feel it.

The season may just be getting started, but one thing is clear: Dobes is no longer just a pleasant surprise – he wants to become the number-one goaltender.
