What better time to make a major change to your look than during Australian Fashion Week?

That was the thinking for Married At First Sight fashionista Carina Mirabile, who used the stylish week to show off a bold hair transformation.

Carina revealed herself to be a “short hair girly”, revealing a surprise chop of her previously long flowing locks.

After debuting the look at the Mariam Seddiq runway on May 15, Carina showed off the look further on social media.

“Hi I’m a short hair girly now 💇🏻‍♀️ #fashionweek #haircut #fyp” she shared on TikTok.

The transformation comes after one of Carina’s fashion week outfits caused a lot of commotion and controversy.

Carina attended a flurry of shows in Sydney, including one in a striking nude Skims bodysuit covered with a large vintage fur coat.

However, the look soon drew the attention of fans and animal activists who questioned whether she was wearing real fur. This year, AFW implemented an immediate ban on real furs, animal skins and animal feathers from its runways.

However, the bride later said that it was not real fur.

“It’s not real fur FYI 🤦 and my hairstylist uses vegan products,” Carina shared on her Instagram Story.

She further clarified to Chattr that it was a big misunderstanding.

“It’s not real fur, bought from a vintage store in New York. I wouldn’t wear anything that’s not ethically sourced,” she said.

The coat and bodysuit look was complimented by Carina’s longest hair look yet – as she wore extensions down to the floor.

She described the “hair installation” as being about “love, lust and letting go” and inspired by the modern dating experience.
