Married At First Sight‘s Cyrell Paule has reacted to ‘mum shaming’ she experienced while supporting her son’s school sports carnival.
Cyrell who appeared on Season 6 of MAFS in 2019, shared details of the incident to her 403,000 Instagram followers, saying “today I was mummy shamed… well, at least that’s how I was left feeling”.
The 36-year-old explained that she had been sick recently and made the late call to attend the sports day to support her and Eden Dally’s five-year-old son, Boston.
“So by the time it was lunch time at the school carnival I thought, ‘you know what, there’s a Maccas down the road,’” she began.

“I was thinking ‘should I even go?’ because I was so sick.
“So I’m not gonna lie. I didn’t really pack him a ‘suitable’ lunch for sports carnival. I didn’t have the carrots or the cut up cucumber,” she continued.
Cyrell recalled overhearing a conversation between another parent and child.
“One kid was saying like, ‘ah yum, I love nuggets, I had McDonalds just the other day,’ the mum was like, ‘you’re not getting McDonald’s today, you are at a sports carnival – you’re not supposed to be eating that’,” she shared.

She was annoyed that another mother made an immediate judgement.
“Dude, you don’t even know what my situation is,” Cyrell reacted.
“Yes, I admit it’s a lazy lunch, yes I probably could’ve gotten better but you know what? I don’t need you to tell me I’m doing a s–t job.”
She called for “enough with the mother shaming”.
“We aren’t all perfect mothers.”

Cyrell concluded with a photo of a happy Boston, writing a message for other parents.
“Soooo too all the mums who feel like what you’re doing isn’t enough… you do you!!!” she wrote.
“Stop judging each other’s parenting. No one knows your child or your situation!! Do what makes your family happy!”
