The horrific accident that occurred in the early morning of July 3 (local time) on the A-52 route, through the town of Cernadilla, Zamora province, Spain, took the lives of two football player brothers.

The car exploded like a fireball.

Accordingly, the Lamborghini carrying  Liverpool  striker Diogo Jota  and his brother Andre Silva (26 years old) is said to have had an accident while traveling at high speed, while overtaking. Initial reports said that one of the tires exploded, causing the car to lose control, veer off the main lane, flip several times and burst into flames.

At around 0:30 a.m., the 1-1-2 Emergency Operations Center of the Castilla y León region received several calls from passersby about a supercar exploding like a fireball on the A-52 road.

“I heard a loud bang, followed by a huge fire in the middle of the night, ” said a witness. “ When I got closer, I only saw the car frame upside down and burned black. No one could have survived that collision.”

Upon receiving the notification, emergency units including the Zamora Traffic Police, the Zamora Provincial Council Fire Brigade and the Sacyl Medical Emergency Coordination Center immediately arrived at the scene. However, both victims died on the spot.

The supercar was burned to the frame, debris scattered all over the road.

The first images from the scene captured by Spanish media showed a haunting scene: the Lamborghini was upside down, burned to the bone on the side of the road. Parts were scattered around the area, scattered around the area. Burnt tire marks were still visible on the asphalt, showing the long distance the car had traveled before it crashed and exploded.

Died just 10 days after marriage

The sudden death of Diogo Jota has shocked the football world. Less than two weeks ago, the Liverpool player had married his girlfriend in his hometown of Porto. On social media, he emotionally shared that this was “a day we will never forget” but unexpectedly it turned into a farewell.

The Portuguese Football Federation confirmed the sad news in an official statement: “In addition to being an outstanding player with almost 50 caps for the Portuguese national team A, Diogo Jota was also an extraordinary person, respected by both teammates and opponents.”

“Portuguese football has lost two of its best sons. This is an unspeakable tragedy,” added the president of the Portuguese Football Federation, Pedro Proenca.
