Married At First Sight‘s Katie Johnston is celebrating her incredible weight loss transformation.
Yet, when she looked in the mirror she was ‘freaking out’. See why in the video above.
The Season 12 bride revealed she’s lost 28 kilograms in an impressive 12 weeks. Taking to Instagram, Katie explained how the unexpected moment has inspired her next move.
“This is a real WTF moment. 12 weeks, 28kgs down from my heaviest,” Katie captioned the clip.
In the video, the MAFS bride is glammed up and dressed up as she stopped mid-shoot to take a look in the mirror.
“Oh my gosh,” she says in the video. “This is so weird getting used to. My mind hasn’t caught up yet with the transformation”.
Speaking on TODAY Extra this morning, Katie explained exactly how she was feeling.
She opened up about the one thing “people don’t understand” about her transformation – that it’s also a mental journey.
Katie said “being able to see evidence of a physical transformation, and being able to look in the mirror and have that ‘woah, where did that all go?’ moment” is what helped her push through.
“And the visceral fat is so important that it’s gone, that’s the stuff you can’t see,” she explained.
“Knowing that’s done now and in a healthy range, now I have to work on other things.”
It’s no secret Katie has been using her post-MAFS platform as an advocate for self-love.
“I thought there was no coming back from the downward spiral I was on,” Katie continued in her latest post.
“But turns out the right help from the right people and products (backed by science) makes it A LOT easier!
“My purpose now is to share it with others who need help to get on top of their health again and to live their best life
“I want nothing more than to give to others the gift I’ve been given…. Longevity ❤️❤️❤️.”
Katie teased there’s “some exciting things” coming so fans will have to stay tuned.
