Best friends Lol and Lil stepped into the kitchen last night on My Kitchen Rules, determined to prove they were more than just “the Logan bogans” of the competition.

Their Instant Restaurant, Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice, produced flavour-packed dishes but was hindered by technical errors, leaving the lifelong mates with a score of 64 out of 110 – just one point off the bottom of the leaderboard.

The entrée of Grilled Prawn and Mango Tortilla Bites impressed some diners with punchy flavours, though Manu felt the prawns were slightly overcooked.

The main, a Chicken and Leek Pot Pie, drew praise for its rich filling but lost points for burnt pastry and an overly sweet salad.

Dessert was the highlight – a Lemon Meringue Pie inspired by Lol’s late grandmother – earning plaudits for its presentation, though judges suggested the biscuit base was too thick.

But food wasn’t the only drama served. At the table, tensions boiled over when Maria and Bailey clashed with Sydney cousins Mel and Jacinta.

A heated exchange ended with Mel storming out mid-dinner, as accusations of “temper tantrums” and “victim mentality” flew across the table.

Meanwhile, outspoken Michael didn’t mince words, calling the menu “easy” and the main course “boring,” while Maria and Bailey suggested Lol and Lil’s inexperience showed in their choices.

With scores tallied, Lol and Lil remain vulnerable at the foot of the leaderboard. Their fate now rests on Mel and Jacinta, who must beat their 64 when they host the final Instant Restaurant of the round.

The outspoken duo from Sydney have already found themselves in the middle of the season’s biggest clashes, but now it’s their turn to swap the dining table for the kitchen. With five Instant Restaurants already served — and plenty of controversy along the way — all eyes will be on whether the cousins can keep their cool under pressure.

The stakes couldn’t be higher. Mel and Jacinta must outscore Lol and Lil’s 64 to stay in the competition, or risk becoming the next team sent home.
