EXCLUSIVE: Britt and Taz may be tackling the biggest backyard on The Block this year, but they’re the first to admit they’re “not quiet as stressed” as the other teams.
Speaking with Freedom stylist Serena, Britt let slip that they started landscaping a couple of weeks ago.
It was a move that landed them in hot water by their co-stars after they were accused of working ahead and “cheating”.
But could a stressed-free Britt and Taz mean they’re in an advantaged position now?
Sonny and Alicia seemed to think so. House 4 believed that despite breaking a major rule, rivals Britt and Taz were at “no disadvantage” compared to the other teams.
During a tense body corp, Alicia voted the duo should stop work on their deck until everyone else had completed their subframes.
If they couldn’t agree on the call, Sonny said: “We’ll take it to Scotty”.
Even Ben was in on the body corp plans. (Nine)
By getting ahead, Britt and Taz hoped they’d be in the same league as their biggest competitors Robby and Mat.
“We just want to rival the [House 5] boys,” Taz said at the time.
Thankfully, Serena had a plan that just might wow the judges come Sunday:
1. Amenity is key
We’ve heard judge Marty Fox say it again and again, from a real estate perspective you need think about what is going to add value to your home.
That’s where bang for your buck, a.k.a amenity comes in.
Marty scolded Britt and Taz for not having a second living or lounging space, calling it a “fundamental flaw” in their floorplan.

Britt and Taz’s Alfresco Terrace and Stratco Shed
Well, you’re in luck, Marty. That’s about to change!
By making use of their spacious deck by the pool, Serena helped Britt pick out a large outdoor lounge and two lush day beds.
Considering they didn’t deliver a lounge space during Alfresco and Shed Week, we’re sure the judges can’t wait to see this reveal.
2. Look for furniture packages
Bundle big items together to achieve a consistent look. (Nine)
“Do we need a bar setting?” Serena quizzed Britt.
With a space this size, that answer is yes! Britt turned down an aluminium bar table and opted for a wooden finish to match the rest of her house.
Serena pointed out it came in a bar and dining package, because we all know how much the judges love a sense of continuity!
3. Ask to see all available options
Now that Britt had picked out the material of her dream lounge, she had to decide on size.
Soooo many options! (Nine)
From a three-seater with two arm chairs, to an L-shaped lounge and even bigger lounge with a detachable chase, it’s all about landing on the perfect size for your space.
