Han (Hannah) is a 29-year-old geologist who moved from the UK to Australia with her family when she was nine.
“When I came to Australia, I didn’t realise geology was a thing,” she says. “It’s a great job, I love it.”
Can (Candace) is a 31-year-old marketing and social media analyst. She has always loved property and real estate.
“Mum used to take me to art galleries and Dad took me to motorbike tracks with the boys. I used to take them to open for inspections,” Can says.
This dynamic duo met a year ago – bonding on their first date over a shared love of The Block. Together, they are renovating House 2.

Week 1: Main bathroom (4th place)

It would be an understatement to say the girls didn’t have the strongest start to their time on The Block, since they were unable to finish their first room.
On the morning of bathroom reveals, the duo still had to finish tiling as well as painting the ceiling, fitting lights, installing the showerhead, toilet, cabinets … and doing the styling and cleaning.
The judges still appreciated their eye for design, with Darren describing the space as “calm” and “soft”, but ultimately questioning whether it suited the Daylesford market. Marty called the curved doorway a “waste of money” and questioned the framework on the shower screen.
Their score of 19.5 was best summed up by Shaynna, who said: “The only way is up.”

Week 2: Kids’ bedroom (4th place)

Shaynna loved the colours and creativity, which she said had “Wes Anderson vibes”. But, she felt the details in the nursery were “too much” and called the pendant lights non-functional.
Darren loved the concept of the embedded bedhead (with which the girls won the bedhead challenge, earning them a David Bromley artwork).
Marty loved the nursery’s details, but was unsure about a nursery in the Daylesford market. He instantly noticed that the arch in the second bedroom appeared crooked; Darren also noted this “optical illusion”.
This was a strong week for Han and Can, who scored a total of 24. We guess Shaynna was right last week with her parting words.

Week 3: Main ensuite (1st place)

Han and Can had their first big win this week, scoring a whopping 29 for the en suite room after failing to complete the main bathroom two weeks prior.
The giant, amber resin bath and matching twin basins stole the show and the judges’ hearts.
“Holy s—, look at the bath!” Marty said when he first entered the bathroom. Darren also added, “That is some theatre; that is some entertainment.” Shaynna actually got into the bathtub, praising their perfect execution of the softer tones around their statement piece.
Shaynna told the girls to continue being bold.

Week 4: Main bedroom (5th place)

After coming in first place for the en suite reveals, the girls dropped to 5th with a score of 20 this week.
Marty and Darren were not fans of Han and Can’s daring Wes Anderson motif.
“Oh my god. I hate it,” said Marty when he entered the room and saw the blue wall “I actually want to vomit.”
Despite less than favourable reception for the main bedroom, the judges loved the walk-in wardrobe with its marble handles and interior detail in the cupboards.Check out the other contestants’ Block main bedroom reveal results for more.
