Rose guard Chelsea Gray set the tone for her team’s inaugural Unrivaled championship with a buzzer-beating half-court three off the front rim at the end of the third quarter.

The bucket gave the Rose a two-point lead, 51-49, entering the fourth quarter and established the winning score at 62.

Teammate Brittney Sykes, who led the team with 21 points, capped the victory and an and-one, hitting a free throw after scoring a layup while being hit on the arm by Vinyl guard Jordin Canada.

Rose forward Azurá Stevens added 19 points and 18 rebounds, while Gray had 18 points and eight assists.

In 16 games, Gray, who is a three-time WNBA champion with the Los Angeles Sparks (2016) and Las Vegas Aces (2022-23), averaged 22.3 points per game.

Her strong showing in Miami could be a great sign for the Aces in 2025. Last season, Gray appeared in 27 games and averaged 8.6 points per game, her lowest since 2016.

While she won’t be the offensive focal point playing alongside three-time MVP A’ja Wilson, her shot-making will still be a key this upcoming season. If Gray’s performance in guiding the Rose to the Unrivaled league title is any indication, Las Vegas is in good shape.
