Shocking New Testimony Emerges in Disappearance of Lily and Jack Sullivan

The mysterious disappearance of six-year-old Lily Sullivan and her four-year-old brother Jack has captivated the world since they vanished on May 2nd from their home in Lanstown Station, Nova Scotia. Now, new and explosive claims are shaking the foundation of this already puzzling case.

Janie McKenzie, the children’s maternal grandmother, has come forward with a critical eyewitness account—shared publicly by Darren Gettis, a close relative of the children’s mother, Malaya Brooks Murray. Speaking on the YouTube channel A Crimeing Shame with Sunonny Austin and Charmaine Swart, Darren relayed a sequence of events that may dramatically reshape the investigation.

According to Darren, Janie was unexpectedly present at the property the morning Lily and Jack went missing—despite Malaya allegedly believing she was away for the night. Darren claims Malaya took advantage of what she thought was an empty house to secretly leave with the children while Daniel Martel, the children’s stepfather, was still asleep.

Janie, awakened by the sound of her barking dog and the children’s voices, heard what she describes as a chilling scream, followed by the distinct sounds of the children being taken outside. When Janie confronted Malaya shortly afterward, she says Malaya appeared stunned and told her the children were “in the woods.” Janie was skeptical, as she had just heard them moments earlier.

Significantly, Darren described a single bootprint found in a muddy area of the driveway—where Janie had been working the night before. This aligns with early RCMP reports of two distinct bootprints discovered during the initial search: one near the pipeline trail and one in the driveway, where tracking dogs also lost the children’s scent.

This revelation has reignited speculation over how the children could have disappeared from what was described as a fully fenced-in yard. It also casts new light on the timeline, as both Daniel and Malaya claimed not to have noticed the children missing until 9:40 a.m.—a conspicuously late hour for a home with three small children.

In a further twist, Darren alleges that Malaya may have coordinated the removal of her children with the help of a group of girls, one of whom reportedly made a chilling comment in front of police. This young woman, referred to as “the psychic,” allegedly claimed Lily and Jack were “tucked in nice warm beds in New Brunswick” and added she would be visiting them soon.

Darren believes the children were moved to an Indigenous reserve—possibly the St. Regis Mohawk Reserve, which straddles the U.S.-Canada border—and may now be in New York State. A hairdresser in Plattsburgh, New York, reportedly claims to have seen both children at her salon on May 26, three weeks after they vanished.

Despite the severity of the claims, no Amber Alert was issued, largely because no one directly witnessed the children being placed into a vehicle. Darren has filed sworn statements with multiple police agencies, including the RCMP and Westful Police, and continues to push for action.

Interestingly, when confronted with Darren’s theory, Malaya did not deny it, instead responding, “OMG, I can’t even listen to that,” before accusing Daniel of unrelated theft—remarks some interpret as deflection. She later stated that she was protecting her youngest daughter Meadow from CPS, leading some to speculate she may be doing the same for Lily and Jack.

Daniel Martel, in response, has praised Darren as a “warrior” for coming forward. Meanwhile, Belinda Gray, the children’s paternal grandmother, has questioned why Janie didn’t share this information sooner.
