The name Patrik Laine has been a hot topic in Montreal for the past few days, as well as since the start of the season.

There have been ups and downs, and some rather strange episodes, like his recent two-game absence due to flu-like symptoms, which some have questioned. But now, a journalist from Le Journal de Québec is calling for it to come to an end for good.

Jean-Nicolas Blanchet, who has never been one to hold back, just published a hard-hitting article essentially saying that the Patrik Laine experiment in Montreal “has to stop.”

A journalist demands an end to Patrik Laine’s time with the Canadiens

See his article below.

“We tried. We believed. It gave us a few nice moments. But that’s enough.”

– Blanchet, on Patrik Laine

He couldn’t be clearer.

For him, the Patrik Laine experiment has lasted long enough.

In his article, he explains that there are real warriors on this team, like David Savard and Josh Anderson, who have been playing through serious injuries for a while now. So, to him, it’s inexplicable that these guys are playing while Laine is not.

It’s hard to argue with him on that point.

He goes even further:

“Kent Hughes presented this acquisition as a reward for his players. In the end, it’s more like a poisoned gift for the organization.”

– Jean-Nicolas Blanchet, who adds that some of Laine’s actions are actively harming the team’s culture.

See all of his arguments in his article..

So, it’s clear that for journalist Blanchet, Patrik Laine’s time with the Montreal Canadiens must come to an end.

And you, do you agree with him? Do you also believe that Kent Hughes should part ways with Patrik Laine this summer?
