Nine Entertainment Editorial Director Kerri Elstub has been let go after 25 years with the network.

Elstub (pictured second from right) joined in 2000 as Supervising Producer / Chief of Staff on Today, becoming Executive Producer of Weekend Today, Kerri-Anne and Supervising Producer of A Current Affair before shifting to Editorial Director of 9Honey and Nine Entertainment website.

Daily Mail reported she was made redundant as part of cost cuts under CEO Matt Stanton.

Former MAFS, Getaway, Travel Guides executive producer On Facebook John Walsh posted, “I need to acknowledge the departure from the Nine family of Kerri Elstub a dear friend and colleague who I worked with in many different capacities for over 25 years.

“Kerri is a force of nature. Someone who energises and motivates those around her with her own seemingly inexhaustible energy and jaw-dropping work ethic.

“Her fingerprints are all over many of Nine’s biggest broadcast titles including TodayWeekend Today, the Kerri-Anne Show and ACA where she really cemented herself as a leading player in the Australian media. She later moved into the digital world as the founding editor of 9Honey before becoming the Director of nine.com.au.

“My favourite memory is working with Kerri on the MAFS companion show Talking Married. This show was live straight after MAFS with MAFS cast who had just watched themselves in the Dinner Party episodes. To say it was a wild ride is an understatement!

“Kerri is a big loss to Nine but we’ll all be watching with great interest to see where she turns up next to continue her influence and impact in the next chapter of her stellar career.”

Victoria Buchan, former Head of Communications at Nine, echoed the senitments commenting, “Kerri has been an integral part of Nine, what a loss.”

Victoria Owens, Parenting Lead at 9Honey said, “I’m shocked! Beautiful words John – she is a force of nature! The best boss and even better all round person – she convinced me to come back to Nine agin and again – it’s a huge loss and they’re crazy to have let her go. Talking Married was a wild ride and I feel so privileged to have worked on it with both of you! We’ll always have those hilarious memories from the control room!”

Media doyenne Melissa Hoyer said, “She is the best! No doubt something brilliant will come her way.”

Adam Kotch series director on Married at First Sight and Love Triangle said, “Loved working with Kerri! You knew you were in safe hands if Kerri was at the wheel.”
