Olivia Benic and Farmer Matt Young are one of the many success stories to come from Farmer Wants A Wife. The couple found love on the thirteenth season of the reality show in 2023, and welcomed their first child together last year.

With this year’s season approaching its end, Olivia has shared her advice for the current group of farmers and their ‘winners’. The 26-year-old tells Yahoo Lifestyle that her biggest tips for the new couples navigating their relationship in the public eye are to “stay off social media and give each other grace”.

“Before the show even came on TV, Matt and I had a support plan in place because I was like, ‘I have no idea how hard this is going to be. This is what I’m going to need from you, what do you need from me?’. So we kind of planned for the bad stuff before it would even happen, and that was helpful,” she recalls. “But I think you just need to be kind to each other.”

Olivia adds that it’s just as “important” for the contestants to keep supporting each other, both on and off the show.

“It’s all everyone’s real life, and none of us are perfect, so just give each other grace and be kind,” she remarks.

Olivia also urges viewers to be kind to the participants who are opening up and sharing their lives on TV, as they don’t deserve to receive any hate.

“Just remember that this isn’t a natural scenario for the girls,” she says. “How they’ve been portrayed and how they’re portraying themselves probably isn’t completely natural, because no one prepares you for this. We’re not trained actors, none of us has been in front of cameras before, so give us some kindness.”

Olivia reveals that she recently got in contact with Clarette to support her while the show airs on TV, as she had a similar experience dealing with negativity online throughout season 13.

“Everyone thinks they know everything, and a girl with a strong personality comes on TV and everyone’s like, ‘No, not having that’. And now the same is happening with Clarette,” she shares. “I’ve been talking to Clarette a bit, and it’s so hard for her. She’s a little bit older than us and she’s still struggling, so it’s hard.”
