It’s becoming increasingly likely that Kent Hughes will complete a major trade this summer to acquire a second-line center.

We know the Canadiens’ general manager came up empty-handed in his attempt to acquire Dylan Cozens, but as reported by the site DansLesCoulisses, something big is brewing in Montreal.

During a recent appearance on BPM Sports, journalist Mathias Brunet stated that the Canadiens organization is preparing a significant trade and that prospects could be sacrificed by the team’s management.

“The Canadiens have picks and prospects.

From what I understand, Logan Mailloux still holds value for some general managers.

David Reinbacher, forget it! Forget it. Forget it. Reinbacher is not going anywhere.”

Michael Hage and Logan Mailloux involved in a major trade for that coveted second-line center?

The journalist brings up the names Michael Hage and Logan Mailloux as potential trade chips to be offered to other NHL teams in exchange for a quality center.

However, Brunet emphasized that he would never consider sacrificing David Reinbacher in a potential trade.

Reinbacher has just returned to play and is, without a doubt, the Canadiens’ top defensive prospect.

This is a major storyline to watch, and what’s happening right now with the Montreal Canadiens is exciting, they have a real shot at making the playoffs this season. But don’t think for a second that Kent Hughes is satisfied with just that.

He wants more! And he’s going to work toward it as soon as the season ends.
