EXCLUSIVE: Married At First Sight’s Jamie Marinos has addressed rumours of a romantic relationship with co-star Eliot Donovan saying their connection “is not a publicity stunt”.

In an exclusive interview with 9Entertainment, the Season 12 bride remained coy as she tried to clear up questions surrounding her and Eliot’s post-experiment relationship.

“I hang out heaps with Eliot. He’s become a very good, very close person to my life so I’m really appreciative of Eliot,” she began.

“I understand everyone wants an answer but we’re in the real world now, so it’s not like we’re going to be official or announce someting tomorrow.

“I’m enjoying getting to know Eliot, I’m getting to know different people I’m just being open.”
Jamie didn’t deny there was no romance brewing between her and Eliot but insisted their pair were “enjoying getting to know each other”. (TikTok @not_eliotd)
Jamie, 28, said nobody was more surprised than her that she and Eliot had grown close but he simply understood her in this post-MAFS bubble.

“We only started hanging around each other since we both left our marriages, just over a month ago. He’s always been a very good friend to me, but he’s been a really amazing support system.

“We have so much fun together, getting to know each other, and making Tiktoks are always so much fun.

“But for me, the important thing is that it’s not a publicity stunt, we just genuinely enjoy being around each other.”

Jamie captured Australia’s hearts during Season 12 of MAFS where she was married to Dave Hand.

They had been one of the strongest couples early on but faced problems when Dave admitted he’s feelings weren’t progressing as fast as Jamie’s. Despite committing to one another at Final Vows the pair revealed they had split for good at the Reunion.

Speaking to 9Entertainment, Jamie confirmed that following their break-up she and Dave are “still no contact”.

“It is disappointing because there was a point where I thought Dave would just be in my life regardless, forever,” she said.

“We did share such a unique journey that only him and I will truly understand every moment that transpired, so that part is sad.

“At the same time, I am always grateful for anyone that’s removed from my life that’s not meant to be in it.

Jamie thinks that both she and Dave are “a lot more peaceful not being in each other’s lives”.

“As long as we’re both happy. I think that’s amazing,” she added.

While Jamie was married to Dave in the experiment, Eliot was first married to bride Lauren before he called it quits just two days into their honeymoon. Then in an unprecedented move, Eliot returned to the experiment and wed a second bride Veronica but they called it quits by the sixth Commitment Ceremony.
