Farmer Wants A Wife’s Claire has spoken out about her co-star Clarette’s controversial ‘edit’ and revealed what she was really like during filming. Clarette has emerged as one of the most divisive contestants this season, with viewers accusing her of being “too jealous” about Farmer Thomas’ connections with the other women.
The 35-year-old teacher is yet to speak out about her experience on the reality show and hasn’t done any media interviews or shared any posts on Instagram since the season premiered last month. While viewers have questioned whether Clarette’s on-screen persona comes down to clever editing or her actual personality, her co-star Claire tells Yahoo Lifestyle it’s a bit of both.
“She’s getting the villain edit, for sure. I mean, she definitely knew what she wanted and knew what she was doing, but yeah, there’s definitely some mayo on it, for sure, and I feel for her,” she shares. “I don’t think anyone’s deserving of a villain edit, because if it was me, I’d literally be rocking in a corner.”
Claire admits, however, that there have been a few moments watching the show where she’s been shocked by Clarette’s behaviour, including when she secretly kissed Thomas at the farewell dinner.
“After what I saw at the farewell dinner, I was like, ‘You sly little fox!’,” she remarks. “But no one deserves the sort of comments that are coming out. Some things are accurate, some things are not.
“We got along at the end of the day, so yeah, it’s interesting when you’re on the other side and you see what’s been said in voxies and you’re like, ‘Ah okay, no worries!’. I should have been more onto it.”

Former winner weighs in on Clarette’s ‘edit’
Claire isn’t the first Farmer Wants A Wife participant who has claimed Clarette is getting ‘the villain edit’, with Daisy Lamb also criticising how she’s been portrayed on TV. Daisy, who found love with Farmer Todd Melbourne last season, recently weighed in on a Facebook post about the divisive contestant.
“Villain edit 100%. She is lovely according to other ladies on that farm. Y’all need to calm down,” she wrote.
This comes after Daisy told Yahoo Lifestyle that the show needs to tone down the drama and return to its original format.
“It’s definitely the producers that chase that. The farmers are always so nervous when they go into it, and they just want an easy time, but drama sells,” she shared.
“People watch it for the drama, and it’s just really sad that that’s the way that Channel Seven has felt the need to go rather than just keeping it to the original first 12 seasons or something. They were so wholesome and just a really great watch.”
