It’s been proven time and time again that the pressure of The Block has the power to not only impact romantic relationships but also test friendships formed between contestants. This season, Britt and Alicia quickly became close friends — enjoying dinner dates, shopping trips, and intimate conversations — but had a falling out at the midway point when the competition kicked in.

Britt and Taz have since confirmed to Yahoo Lifestyle that, despite wishes from viewers, they’ve yet to rekindle their friendship with Alicia and Sonny and are instead “civil” with one another. They explained that it was “difficult to go back to how it was” after watching the show and seeing what was said behind their backs, but they have attended events with them in recent months.

Fans would be thrilled to know, however, that Britt and Taz have become extremely close with another couple on the show since filming wrapped.

The pair tell Yahoo Lifestyle that, despite not spending as much time together throughout the experience, they consider Emma and Ben their closest friends from The Block.

“We’re really good friends with Ben and Em; they’re the most beautiful people inside and out,” Britt reveals.

“We talk to them, probably nearly almost every single day. We speak to them a lot.”

Why weren’t they friends during the show?

Taz admits it’s “disappointing” they weren’t as close during the show, especially because it would’ve been great for viewers to see two teams supporting one another as opposed to the awkward tension that’s currently airing.

However, the reason why they didn’t spend much time together while filming was simply because Emma and Ben’s house was “so far away”.

“They were up the hill, and you don’t understand until you’re at the houses, but that was quite a fair way away, so I was never coincidentally just running into them,” she details.

“Sonny and Alicia and Han and Can were right next to us, so we always used to run into them. Whereas Emma and Ben had their own amenities up there, they had their own toilets, so we’d just never really see them.”

‘Down-to-earth’

The couple went on to say that it’s been incredible seeing how Emma and Ben have represented themselves on the series, and they were exactly the same throughout filming as they appear on TV.

“They’re the most genuine, down-to-earth, beautiful people you will ever meet,” Britt gushes.

“We tried to just replicate that and be ourselves throughout, and I think we did,” Taz adds.

“Even when all things were going wrong, we were still just trying to have a laugh and just try to be ourselves, and I think we did that pretty well.”
