It’s been a few months since this year’s season of The Block finished filming and the contestants completed their houses, but the biggest challenge of all still lies ahead of them. All five properties will go to auction later this month, with the teams keeping any profit made above their yet-to-be-announced reserve price.

Previous seasons have seen some contestants walk away with over a million dollars while others failed to sell their house at all, so it’s no surprise that the 2025 teams are feeling anxious ahead of the big event. Fan favourites Britt and Taz told Yahoo Lifestyle that it’s been “nerve-wracking” leading up to the auction, and they’ve been doing everything they can to ensure a positive result.

The West Australian-based cops reveal that they’ve not only been sacrificing time with their family to focus on the house, but they’ve also taken time off work to fly to Daylesford on several occasions.

“We’ve sacrificed financially to have buyers through and speak to potential people that are coming through and might buy the house and host sponsors and just do everything we can to sell the place,” Taz said.

“We’re doing that currently, and we’re flying here, there, and everywhere to do it, just because we need to throw everything at it.

“It’s been our whole journey that we don’t do anything half-assed, just give it absolutely everything so when we walk away with this and we make a lot of money, great, and if we don’t, there’s nothing we could have done more to sell this place in terms of the build and post-production and trying to sell this place with every effort we can.”

Britt and Taz’s real estate agent weighs in

With the auction now less than two weeks away, Britt and Taz’s listing agent and Buxton Ballarat director Mark Nunn said he has had “thousands of people” inspect the house and interest is “ramping up”.

“The feedback we’re getting on Britt and Taz’s house is just really positive,” he said.

“It’s overwhelmingly positive on people just loving their style and the direction that they went with their property, both inside and outside as well.”

Mark adds that you never know what will happen until you get to the auction, but there’s “certainly interest in their house”.

“We’re hoping for a successful auction for them,” he added.

Britt and Taz are currently tipped to win this year’s season of The Block, with 55 per cent of Yahoo Lifestyle’s readers voting for them as the predicted champions.

The winner of The Block, determined by the team with the highest profit, will win an additional $100,000 prize.
