Last year on Farmer Wants A Wife, Daisy Lamb, who was on Farmer Todd Melbourne’s farm, quickly got the villain edit. We watched as she quickly got offside with the other girls on the farm and even Todd’s friends. Despite this, she and Todd are still very happy together and have been living on his farm ever since the show ended.

As someone very familiar with the villain edit, Daisy has revealed that one of the women on Farmer Thomas’ farm this year is receiving the same treatment. The revelation came after fans questioned whether they were seeing the real Clarette or someone production wanted us to see.

Clarette is a teacher who Thomas admits would slot into life in Kimba very well. She describes herself as someone who likes “making other people happy” and does “special things” for those who are important to her.

“I have an optimistic outlook on life and I like to give back where I can,” she added.

Despite this, fans have been debating Clarette’s real intentions, with one Facebook user asking, “Is Clarette getting the villain cast? Or is she there for fame/followers? Do you think she’s genuine about finding a farmer? A possible bad edit, but she didn’t look to be too thrilled about the rodeo.”

Other Farmer Wants A Wife fans were quick to share their thoughts, with one person responding, “I noticed that too.”

“Yes she is getting the villain cast, because she’s acting like one,” another, more blunt fan added.

“She’s pushy,” a third agreed.

“I think she is lovely. They certainly seem to have chemistry. Good on her for being proactive,” someone else said, referencing her taking Thomas aside at dinner and getting a cheeky kiss.

“Clarette’s pushy, she will try anything, I don’t know if he’s into her,” another speculated.

“I can’t warm to her,” one viewer added. “She doesn’t give him space to speak, she’s too concerned over winning him over.”

Some people even suggested that if Farmer Thomas does choose Clarette, she will “dump him”.

“Maybe it is a Daisy situation,” one person suggested. “She narrowly avoided being ‘stoned to death’. Still together. Editing in that case.”

“I think they are just editing it … they did it last year when that farmer [Todd] came in half way through and he was smitten with that girl [Daisy] but they made her out to be a b***h on screen and the family didn’t like her when that wasn’t the case,” yet another said. “I think they probably like each other and just making her out to be this person so no one likes her.”

Daisy herself then weighed in, saying, “Villain edit 100%. She is lovely according to other ladies on that farm. Y’all need to calm down.”

It comes after Daisy told Yahoo Lifestyle that the show needs to tone down the drama and return to its original format.

“It’s definitely the producers that chase that. The farmers are always so nervous when they go into it, and they just want an easy time, but drama sells,” she shares. “People watch it for the drama, and it’s just really sad that that’s the way that Channel Seven has felt the need to go rather than just keeping it to the original first 12 seasons or something. They were so wholesome and just a really great watch.”

Daisy says she’s hopeful Australia “will get sick of it eventually”, but doesn’t think it will happen anytime soon after millions of people tuned into last year’s finale.

“If nothing changes with the audience and the viewers, then nothing will change with their production either,” she asserts.
