Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb may no longer be sharing their weekday mornings on television, but their bond remains strong outside of the studio.

Recently, the two longtime friends and former colleagues shared a heartwarming reunion, proving their friendship goes beyond the cameras.

Hoda, who departed from her role on the “Today” show in January, made a surprise appearance at Savannah’s book signing event on February 25.

The event, held in Ridgewood, New Jersey, celebrated the release of Savannah’s latest children’s book, Mostly What God Does is Love You.

The unexpected visit left Savannah overwhelmed with joy.

“I thought I was hallucinating,” Savannah admitted the following day on “Today.” “It made me feel so good. It was just amazing. It’s so, so sweet and so, so her.”

Hoda documented her journey to the book signing in a series of Instagram videos, showcasing the effort she put into keeping the surprise under wraps. In one clip, she hid her face behind a copy of Savannah’s book. Another video captured the excited crowd waiting for Savannah’s arrival. The final clip showcased the emotional moment when Hoda revealed herself to a stunned Savannah.

As Savannah descended a set of stairs to greet her audience, Hoda stepped forward from the background and playfully asked, “Can I be first?” The moment Savannah spotted her, she bent down in shock while the crowd erupted in cheers. The two women then embraced, sharing a heartfelt hug.

“I love you,” Hoda repeatedly told Savannah as they embraced, with onlookers expressing their delight at the touching moment.

Savannah, still in disbelief, responded, “I’m dying. I cannot believe this. What, are you even real?”

Hoda then turned to the crowd, expressing admiration for her friend. “Let me tell you what this girl has done ever since I’ve known her. She shows up for people,” Hoda said.

“So do you,” Savannah replied, reinforcing the mutual support they’ve shared over the years.

The surprise appearance quickly gained attention, with fellow NBC News colleague Vicky Nguyen commenting on Instagram, “I love this so much!!! You showed up ❤️❤️❤️ and that’s what life is about ❤️❤️❤️.”

Savannah later took to social media to share her emotions, posting a series of photos with Hoda and captioning them, “Happiness is… your friend surprising — no, SHOCKING you — by showing up at your book event. @hodakotb there is just no one like you. My biggest cheerleader from beginning to end. 💛💛💛”

Jenna Bush Hager, who previously co-hosted Today with Hoda & Jenna, also chimed in, commenting, “In tears ❤️.”

This wasn’t the first time Savannah and Hoda reunited since Hoda’s departure from “Today.” Earlier in the month, the two crossed paths while vacationing separately in Palm Beach, Florida. Savannah shared a cheerful photo of the two smiling together, captioning it, “Oh and a bonus @hodakotb sighting for a little extra (sunshine).”

Hoda and Savannah’s friendship has been a significant part of their journey on and off the screen. While their professional paths have shifted, their connection remains unwavering. This latest heartfelt reunion only reinforced their deep bond, reminding everyone that true friendships endure, no matter the circumstances.
