Farmer Wants A Wife’s Clarette has been branded a ‘stage five clinger’ by viewers after her reaction to Farmer Thomas choosing a date planned by Ellen, and not her, during Tuesday night’s episode. The girls were tasked with coming up with a date idea, and the farmers had to choose the one that sounded the most fun.

Ellen’s date involved giving Thomas a massage, and then having a bath together while enjoying some chocolate and strawberries. While the bath in particular appeared to be quite awkward at first, the pair seemed to relax a little and got to know each other, eventually enjoying a kiss.

“Massage, bathtub, chocolate, strawberries – this date was definitely my most romantic date that someone’s ever organised for me,” Farmer Thomas told the cameras.

“There was a bit of a spark, I wanted to kiss her,” he said, adding her eyes were “pretty hard to resist”.

Ellen also said that she “saw another side to him,” one that was “more mature and serious”.

“I’ve never done anything this romantic before,” she told him.

“There could be feelings developing with Ellen,” Thomas later told the cameras. “I definitely want to explore that a bit more.”

While Ellen and Thomas were on their date, Clarette and Rachael made dinner for everyone and patiently waited for them to return, only for the pair to still be in their swimwear and Ellen only covering up in a towel.

“I was expected they’d be dressed like that for the massage, but thinking they would have been clothed when they came back for dinner, at least. But, yeah, they weren’t,” Clarette said. “Maybe they didn’t have time… enjoying themselves too much.”

Speaking to the pair when they sat down at the table, Clarette fired off questions about the massage, whether they used oil and what Thomas rated the massage out of ten.

“Yeah, it was probably the best massage I’ve had for a while,” Thomas said.

Speaking to the cameras, Clarette said that she wanted to know as much as possible, so she could make an informed decision on whether Thomas is the right person for her.

“I wanted to know how they were feeling on the date, I wanted to know if they thought if it went well,” she told the cameras, adding she was feeling quite jealous about the bathtub portion of the date.

“Being hurt, I guess, or feeling those feelings of jealousy are human nature and instinct, but it’s definitely getting harder to deal with I guess,” Clarette added.

Farmer Wants A Wife fans were quick to comment on the moment, with one viewer writing, “Omg Clarette seems like a stage five clinger! You don’t own him.”

“It’s none of her business what happened on their date!” another said. “Wanting to know everything in chronological order is a bit over the top!”

“She’s asking the questions to try and make Thomas uncomfortable,” a third said. “It’s all about trying to get in his head, so instead of happy feelings he feels uncomfortable for the date. She’s doing the mind games.”

“She hated that he went on a date that wasn’t her… can’t wait to see how she deals with the intruders next week!” someone else wrote. “Watch your back girls…”

It comes after former Farmer Wants A Wife star Daisy Lamb confirmed Clarette is getting the ‘villain edit’.

The teacher describes herself as someone who likes “making other people happy” and does “special things” for those who are important to her.

“I have an optimistic outlook on life and I like to give back where I can,” she added.

Despite this, fans have been debating her real intentions, with one Facebook user asking, “Is Clarette getting the villain cast? Or is she there for fame/followers? Do you think she’s genuine about finding a farmer? A possible bad edit, but she didn’t look to be too thrilled about the rodeo.”

Other Farmer Wants A Wife fans were quick to share their thoughts, with one person responding, “I noticed that too.”

“Yes she is getting the villain cast, because she’s acting like one,” another, more blunt fan added.

“She’s pushy,” a third agreed.

Some people even suggested that if Farmer Thomas does choose Clarette, she will “dump him”.

“Maybe it is a Daisy situation,” one person suggested. “She narrowly avoided being ‘stoned to death’. Still together. Editing in that case.”

Daisy herself then weighed in, saying, “Villain edit 100%. She is lovely according to other ladies on that farm. Y’all need to calm down.”
