Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness have met up in an attempt to reconcile after their difficult divorce, an insider has spilled.

Former Aussie power couple Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness are rumoured to be finding common ground again after their painful split, with insiders claiming they’ve met up a couple of times to “talk things out”.

Jackman, 56, and Furness, 69, were married for 27 years before announcing their separation in September 2023.

The actor has since gone public with Broadway star Sutton Foster, 50, who he first met in 2021 while they were both still married and starring together in The Music Man.

While their divorce was finalised in late May, reports suggest the pair didn’t part on great terms.

The Force of Nature star referenced “betrayal” in a pointed public message shortly after their split.

“My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,” Furness said at the time, as quoted by the Mail.

“It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.”

Now, a source close to the former couple has told Radar Online that they’ve recently reconnected in New York.

“Hugh has been trying to make peace with Debs for a long while now, but as you can imagine, it has taken her time to feel ready,” the insider said.

“Settling all the legal stuff seems to have helped because she’s finally coming around- they’ve gotten together a couple of times in New York recently to talk things out, and by all accounts things have improved dramatically, which is fantastic for everyone, most of all their kids.”

The source added: “It’s been two years now since they officially separated and it really is time to let the hatred and anger go.”

Since the split, Jackman has reportedly moved into Foster’s Chelsea apartment, while Furness divides her time between Sydney and Manhattan.

Their two children, Oscar, 25, and Ava, 20, are said to live mostly in New York but still spend time visiting Australia.

In December, a source told Woman’s Day that the pair’s children had been caught in the middle of their parents’ separation and Jackman’s new romance.

“It’s been hard for the kids, having to welcome Sutton into their father’s world with their own mixed feelings about it, while at the same time feeling guilty if they get too close,” the source said.

Furness, meanwhile, is reportedly open to dating again but wants to take her time.

“Deb is finally starting to heal and talk about what she wants in her life going forward,” an insider told Woman’s Day in July.

“She’s got an incredible support system that’s been there every step of the way, helping her to pick up the pieces of her life. They are encouraging her to start dating again.”

Interestingly, it is believed that the exes never signed a prenuptial agreement, which complicated the division of their substantial property portfolio located in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

However, Furness is said to have walked away “satisfied” with the terms of the settlement.
