With production on next year’s season of Married At First Sight coming to an end, Channel 9 has shared an exciting update about how the much-anticipated series will roll out on screens. The network announced at its annual Upfront event on Wednesday the launch of the groundbreaking new Stan Original series MAFS After The Dinner Party.

The world-first series, streaming exclusively on Stan, will air weekly immediately after each explosive dinner party and feature exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, participant interviews, expert analysis, and fan commentary. Fan favourite bride Eden Harper told Yahoo Lifestyle she thinks the concept is a great idea as it will give audiences a deeper insight into the drama and love stories.

MAFS fans are always looking for something extra to watch on socials and read online, so having a show like this where the bonus content is coming directly from the source will be good,” she said.

Endemol Shine Australia’s Director of Content, Tara McWilliams, has described the series as “the ultimate front-row seat to Australia’s biggest social experiment”.

We are excited to be expanding our production of the world’s most popular relationship format in this new Stan Original,” she said in a statement.

MAFS After The Dinner Party will deliver fans a thrilling deep-dive into the MAFS experiment each week, providing an irresistible, must-watch, fly-on-the-wall perspective.”

MAFS experts tease ‘complex’ season

This comes shortly after relationship experts Alessandra Rampolla and John Aiken gave Yahoo Lifestyle a teaser on the upcoming season, describing it as “complex”.

“I think we’re gonna have a lot of twists and turns, and we have a lot of strong women on the show this year,” John teased on the 65th Annual TV WEEK Logie Awards red carpet in August.

‘I will enjoy that very much’

John also revealed that he was unsure of the cast dynamic as they had only filmed their sit-down interviews with each of the brides and grooms to discuss their relationship history and intentions heading into the experiment.

“I think what you get in those initial interviews is opinions, you get dating and relationship mindsets, you get very different background stories, and that’s what we’re looking for,” he detailed.

“And one of the great parts of the show is it’s very diverse, so we get different ages, different cultures, different backgrounds and upbringings, and that’s one of the reasons why it’s so successful.”

Alessandra, who first joined the series in 2021, added that she’s very excited about the “cultural diversity” amongst this year’s cast.

“On the same topic, so to speak, it will give you a slightly different perspective. And I think there’s something to be learned and understood about human behaviour in general when you’re able to take those nuances into the mix, so I will enjoy that very much,” she remarked.
