Adrian Portelli and Danny Wallis have been two of the biggest names dominating The Block Auction Day for the last few years.

The question on everybody’s lips this year is whether either of them will be making a comeback at the 2025 Auction Day?

The Block auction is public meaning anyone can attend, but we’ve rounded up all the telling clues that point to whether or not Adrian or Danny will be there.

Will Adrian Portelli return?

In the three Block auctions he’s attended since 2022, Adrian has spent a whopping $31,680,000.

After making a clean sweep and purchasing every single Phillip Island house at The Block 2024 Auction, Adrian revealed he would not be coming back again.

“That was my last appearance on The Block and I thought I’d go out with a bang,” he said at the time.

But in October 2025, Adrian was spotted in Emma and Ben’s House 1 wine cellar.

In a TikTok shared by Ray White Sunbury director Aaron Hill and agent Jamee Favorito, who is tasked with selling House 1, the duo interviewed Adrian on what it takes to be successful.

Social media users were quick to clock the interview was taking place in Emma and Ben’s wine cellar. Although there’s no telling if Adrian has an interest in buying the home.

Host Scott Cam has commented on the likelihood of Adrian’s return to The Block.

Speaking to 9Entertainment he said: “Adrian Portelli is not coming back this year, which we feel opens it up for mums and dads to have a go, to buy a holiday house, to buy a home in Daylesford if they wanted to, or for locals to buy it as well.”

“Obviously, bidding against Adrian Portelli was challenging at times, and if he wanted something, he got it, right? So it made for a tough auction, but now it’s going to be opened up to everybody.”

Will Danny Wallis return?

Danny Wallis is the original big spender on The Block, in fact he’s dropped north of $30 million on 11 Block properties since 2012.

In 2023, the Melbourne IT entrepreneur said he was planning to sell his Victorian investment homes because otherwise he would be facing a massive land tax bill.

It looks like Block judge Marty Fox has helped Danny do just that when he sold two of Danny’s Albert Park homes in October 2025.

The first property sold for just over $2.1 million and the second sold for $1.795 million.

Like Adrian Portelli, Danny was a no show at this year’s Domain Listing Challenge which they each attended in previous years.

But Scotty Cam commented that absence “doesn’t mean Danny Wallis won’t turn up”.

“He’s a good bloke and he makes a lot of those houses available for [children’s cancer charity] My Room. He’s a good bloke and if he wants to buy another house like that, that’d be terrific for us,” the host said.
