A nail-biting finale.

After an intense auction and a whirlwind season on The Block, winners Brit and Taz are finally catching their breath after the celebrations of a well-deserved win.

Five stunning Daylesford homes were under the hammer this year, with two sadly falling short of the reserve price.

WHO chatted to Brit and Taz after their impressive win, which saw the pair walking home with $420,000 as well as an additional $100,000 of prize money.

The Western Australian cops credit their win to the seamless cohesion of their home, with Brit designing each room while keeping the flow of the entire house in mind, their so-called “secret weapon.”

“When Britt was designing one room, she’d be thinking of the next three. And that was our secret weapon. And that’s why the whole thing flowed,” Taz recalled.

“It wasn’t a breakup of rooms; it was such a beautiful space, and the fact that we did that, a beautiful family from Melbourne got to take it home and really enjoy this place for what it is.”

While the win was sweet, the journey wasn’t without its challenges.

The auction day saw high reserves with other contestants falling short.

“As soon as we left Scotty’s little room, we said, ‘Look, if we come last, we don’t care. We’ve set our family up. We’ve done what we needed to do’”, Taz shared.

“We were just excited for everyone else to get in there and have their moment in the sun. But unfortunately, especially our good mates up the top of the hill, they just didn’t get the results they had worked for.”

Being away from home for months tested Brit and Taz, who juggled the pressures of the build with caring for their children.

They admitted that some days were exhausting, and seeing setbacks on the job could be tough, but the thought of returning home kept them grounded.

“At the end of the day, we get to be together, with our kids and family,” Britt added.

As for what’s next for Britt and Taz, some mortgage repayments, of course and then a well-earned holiday, and *hopefully* a return to the big screen (for our sake).

“We’ve loved every moment, from the media buzz to seeing our design dreams come to life,” they shared.
