Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has revealing a surprising insight into her tense friendship with Kyle Sandilands amid their ratings struggles.

Jackie O Henderson has revealed that she’s been butting heads with Kyle Sandilands more than usual lately as their co-star pairing begins to show signs of cracking.

Sanilands and Henderson have worked together for years. They are currently in the middle of a multimillion-dollar radio deal that hasn’t quite gone the way the pair may have hoped after recently dropping to an abysmal eight in the Melbourne radio rankings.

In a new interview with T Australia Magazine, the radio host confessed that she often faces criticism when she speaks up against Sandilands’ more right-wing views.

“Kyle and I have been going head to head a little bit lately, so I will certainly speak up if I don’t agree with what he’s saying,” Henderson said as she appears on the cover of the latest issue of T Australia magazine released today.

“It’s to do with all the wokeness. (I say to Kyle), just because (someone’s) woke doesn’t mean (they) are extreme or unreasonable, (they’re) just trying to be empathetic. And Kyle leans more into the Trump-style camp.”

Henderson, 50, continued, referencing Hollywood icon Jane Fonda’s powerful Screen Actors Guild Awards speech earlier this year.

“Woke just means you give a damn about other people.”

“Really, that’s so true,” Henderson said. “I’m all for that movement.”

“There are always going to be people out there who believe Kyle and Jackie are one person. And anyone who listens regularly would know that we are very different people when it comes to our opinions — we just are. And that’s OK. I think it’s good that we’re different people.”

Meanwhile, it comes as production staff associated with KIIS FM’s Kyle & Jackie O breakfast radio show have been exiting the show at an unprecedented rate, according to network insiders.

While KIIS torchbearers Kyle Sandilands and Jackie “O” Henderson continue to enjoy the lavish rewards of their $100-million 10-year radio contracts, behind the scenes, the turnover of staff on the breakfast show is contributing to the pressure cooker environment.

In the past year, the Kyle & Jackie O radio show has shed up to a dozen key staff associated with the breakfast show, radio insiders have told news.com.au.

The departures began soon after the program launched to a lacklustre – some would say glacial – reception in Melbourne in April 2024.
