Sophie Monk was doing what she did best on Wednesday night – standing out.

The Love Island Australia star walked the red carpet at Channel Nine’s Upfronts in Sydney wearing an attention-grabbing frock among a sea of business-casual suits.

The 45-year-old opted for a very racy, pale green mini dress with a floral motif that put her trim pins on display.

Sophie, who was looking fresh and youthful, toyed with the long train attached to the dress, which she paired with towering gold heels.

Speaking to Daily Mail at the event, the television host revealed she hoped to have a second wind as a movie star.

‘I’ve got a movie coming out too, so at the end of the year, so who knows, I might be a big movie star,’ she said, before adding jokingly, ‘Probably not.’

Sophie explained her new action comedy, Zombie Plane, was due for release soon and was hoping it could mark a big screen renaissance for the sometime-actress.

The star has previously had small roles in the 2006 parody flick Date Movie, the Adam Sandler comedy Click and 2016’s Blood Feast.

She has also had guest roles on TV shows such as Entourage and in the Blink-182 music video Always.

When it comes to music, the former member of girl group Bardot told Daily Mail that she had no plans to return to pop.

‘Music doesn’t want me!’ she joked, before discussing how much she was looking forward to hosting the new season of Love Island Australia.

‘Oh my God, Love Island’s the best. It’s my favorite show in the whole world, and it’s the best show ever on TV, and it makes me look cooler,’ she said.

It comes after Monk’s husband Josh Gross revealed he quit his job to fully support her booming television career – and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

In a rare interview, the tech entrepreneur opened up about stepping away from his work in medical robotics last year to focus on being Sophie’s full-time cheerleader, admitting the move has brought them even closer as a couple.

‘I’m a cheerleader, which is real fun for me,’ he told The Daily Telegraph.

‘Soph has been doing what she’s doing for over 25 years now … I’m sort of behind the scenes, and it works really well for us.

‘I think it would be extremely difficult for couples that are sort of both in the limelight.’

Josh, who married the TV host in 2022 after years of keeping their relationship largely out of the spotlight, says the couple are still in a blissful bubble, living a laid-back life on the NSW Central Coast.

‘It’s been over seven years now, and we’re still in our sort of little honeymoon bubble up there,’ he said. ‘It’s lovely, just the two of us and our two golden retrievers now.’

While Sophie continues to front major projects including Love Island Australia and the new Love Island USA after-show, Josh is often spotted nearby – usually holding a phone to take fan photos of his famous wife.

‘There’s a lot of pressure when you’re photographing one of the most beautiful women in the world,’ he joked while promoting Samsung’s new Galaxy S25 Edge.

‘Fans don’t often even know that I’m the husband. They just sort of start jamming their phones in my hand, and I’ll just stand there for 10 minutes and take photos.’
