Channel Seven presenter recently had a panic attack mid-interview while speaking to Hollywood stars Jason Isaacs and Gillian Anderson about their new movie.

Sunrise entertainment reporter Steve Hargrave, 47, was chatting to the actors about their movie The Salt Path, which concerns a couple who embark on a 1,000 km trek after a shocking health diagnosis.

Steve’s voice was heard breaking during the chat as he became emotional for a heartbreaking reason.

‘It’s so hard sometimes, when you are just a little bit on the edge. This is the worst interview I have ever done,’ Steve told the pair.

He added his own father had recently undergone a heart operation so seeing the characters in the movie struggle with their health made him emotional.

‘You’re affected by what’s happening when you watch films, aren’t you. Yesterday, my dad was in having a heart operation and I watched this during that,’ Steve said.

‘The spirit of the film, it makes you think about what matters in life. I love that you can watch the film at a time like that and it makes sense to you.’

Harry Potter star Jason, 61, jumped into say that movies could be an ‘engine for empathy’.

The X-Files actress Gillian, 56, added their film would make the audience think about what is really important in life.

Steve later took to social media to thank the pair for being so understanding during the difficult interview.

‘My dad had been in a ten hour heart operation the day before, which meant things got rather emotional during the chat, as a tiny bit of a lovely panic attack attempted to rear its head,’ he wrote.

‘Turns out what you need as well as deep breaths is lovely folk like Jason and Gillian to guide you through and let you know everything will be okay. What a pair of legends!’

Last year, Steve made headlines after a bizarre stunt he pulled backfired in a toe-curling interview with two huge A-list stars.

The English-born broadcaster, known for his unique celebrity interviews and red carpet moments, sat down with A Quiet Place: Day One co-stars Joseph Quinn and Lupita Nyong’o.

But the chat had a very awkward start when Steve shushed the actors in reference to the film’s characters, who must remain absolutely silent during an alien invasion.

‘Hi Steve,’ Quinn began the interview, before the presenter silenced him by putting his finger to his mouth.

Steve then held up a piece of paper that read: ‘Hello Lupita and Joseph … I’m too scared to talk’.

The trio sat in more than 15 uncomfortable seconds of silence as Quinn glanced at his co-star Nyong’o before the interviewer put up a sign, reading, ‘Well this is awkward’.

The actors let out a nervous laugh before he officially kicked off the interview.
