See the texts!
The Block‘s Han and Can fired their chippy Ben during Episode 26, only for him to pop back up at Sonny and Alicia’s house a few weeks later. The return of Ben through the women for a loop, especially after the tradie shared a bunch of messages exchanged prior to his dismissal.
During the episode that aired on September 22, Han and Can confessed that they were surprised to see him back, claiming that he sent them a bunch of mean texts after they fired him.
“I’m a bit shocked, because after the way he spoke to me,” Han said in a producer-led interview. “The texts that we received after sending some lovely texts were quite gross, actually.”
Han refused to share the texts on camera. However, Ben later provided them, and the screenshots shown in the episode told a very different story — with Ben voicing his frustration at being let go right before Easter, but ultimately signing off by thanking them for reaching out and telling them to “take care.”
Fans respond to Han’s reaction to the text messages
While Han painted out Ben’s response to be out of line, fans have a different take after seeing the texts aired during Monday’s episode.
“That editing was just on point. Han is really lacking in character to try and paint him like that when she was the one that shafted him,” one person wrote on Reddit.
“The fact that Han tried to paint Ben in such a bad light was so vile. The only reason why she wanted to move on and not go through the message with the producers was because she had tried to spin the narrative, so she could once again make herself the victim. Fortunately, Hanzilla did not win this battle,” another person wrote.
A third user celebrated Ben being vindicated during the episode.
“Personally, I found it funny asf! Han’s there trying to tell the world he’s a c**t and sent all these abusive messages to her, and she’s just a poor widdle girl being targeted by a big mean man, but can’t show any proof. Then the big mean man shows up and ope! Receipts! Han’s a fool! Don’t lie about someone when they have the evidence you’re lying about them, it never works out well!!
Another person said that while they initially understood why Han didn’t want to show the texts on camera, given the circumstances, it would have made sense for her to share them.
“So she backtracked a bit and didn’t want to show the texts. And look — fair enough. I wouldn’t want to share personal communications with the whole world either. It is a bit unprofessional under normal circumstances. But it’s not normal circumstances. It’s The Block. Which means production is just going to go straight to Ben and stir the pot by telling him Han was bitching about the text he sent and ‘btw, can you show it to us?’”
