The Block’s Han and Can missed out on the win this week by half a point to Britt and Taz.

Last week was a huge week on The Block, with the teams completing 25 rooms all up. It’s no easy feat, but they all managed to finish their pantry, laundry, mudroom, water closet, and garage (unlike last week’s disaster that saw most teams fail to finish) – meaning the interior rooms of the house are now finished.

House 3’s Britt and Taz took out the win with a score of 28 after judge Shaynna Blaze gave them a 10. Shaynna gave House 2’s Han and Can a 9.5, which meant their final score was 27.5.

The Block judges rave over Han and Can’s room reveal

While Han and Can have been at the centre of a lot of drama this season, especially after firing their builder recently, they have maintained a solid aesthetic around their home and have been reasonably successful with the judges (except in their main bedroom!).

The judges said that they believed House 2 utilised the pantry and laundry space more effectively than Emma and Ben in House 1, citing features such as the extra bench space, hanging space, and the proximity of the sink to the kitchen.

“It’s not just a walkway. It’s a visual and functional connection to the kitchen,” Darren Palmer said.

Marty Fox’s only criticism was that there wasn’t an extra fridge.

The judges also appreciated the clear separation between the pantry and the laundry, and the decision to add a door outside from the laundry to make hanging out the washing easily was a smart one.

“You want to be here,” Shaynna said, adding that wasn’t the case with House 1.

However, their garage really upped the ante, with Marty calling it

“This is the fun house that has this elegance and luxury, it’s got the shiny, glossy things, but it actually works,” Marty said, pointing out that the girls haven’t gone for a ‘country’ aesthetic, which might be a huge point of difference at auction time.

The girls’ garage really impressed the judges, who called it “showroom quality in a residential setting”.

Block fans claim Han and Can were ‘robbed’

Fans loved Britt and Taz’s rooms, with some saying they have the “best floor plan” and interiors.

However, some were outraged that Han and Can didn’t take out the win.

“You guys were robbed this week,” one fan commented. “Was a beautiful way to finish off your house.”

“Beautiful rooms girls,” another wrote. “You were ripped off.”

“This is by far the best,” a third said. “No competition. The layout, the colours, the finishes.”

More chimed in to declare the ladies deserved the win.

“Girls were so robbed,” someone wrote on Britt and Taz’s post.

“I don’t understand how they won,” another said about House 3.

Some even suggested that they were penalised for some reason, with one viewer writing, “Does The Block just not like the House 2 contestants… the garage was a 10. Not my taste but that’s not what it’s about. The laundry and pantry also a 10.”

Interestingly, it comes after some fans slammed the pair for changing their floor plan for these rooms earlier in the season.

Han and Can say The Block made them ‘stronger’ as a couple

While fans have been worried for the pair, they have said their relationship is actually

Throughout the show, Han and Can have been questioned by fans, who wonder how they’ve managed to stay together due to their communication style.

But thankfully, Han and Can have told Yahoo Lifestyle that the show actually brought them closer together.

“The Block really tested us but also made us stronger, as individuals and as a couple,” they said.

“We learned how to back each other completely, step up when the other was running on empty, and still find ways to laugh when everything felt chaotic.

“Our motto was always, ‘I’ll be 90 per cent when you’re at 10 per cent’, and that carried us through.

“The 12 weeks honestly felt like 12 years, but in the best way. It gave us a deeper understanding of each other and accelerated our relationship in such a positive way.”

Block judges gush over House 3’s spaces

The judges loved Britt and Taz’s rooms, with Darren saying their dramatic pantry space, which featured a bench and a sink with a wall of storage space, was “the best way to handle this space, bar none”.

Shaynna would have loved to see a fridge, but otherwise thought the space was sophisticated.

Darren loved the mudroom and powder room, and Marty joked, “Sounds like us three want to buy it.”

” This is the first house today where we all go, ‘I’d live here, I’d buy it,’” Shaynna agreed.

Darren, meanwhile, described the garage as “sexy AF” – not something you expect to hear about a garage!
