Hoda Kotb has embraced the suburban lifestyle in her new $2.9 million home by walking her kids to school for the first time after quitting her on-air role on the “Today” show.

Hoda Kotb Leans Into Life as Suburban Mom at $2.9 Million Home By Walking Kids to School After Quitting 'Today'

In September, the 60-year-old mom two announced she would be stepping down from the popular morning show after 17 years to spend more time with her children, Haley, 7, and Hope, 5, later revealing that her last day would be Jan. 10.

Her surprise announcement came after Realtor.com® exclusively revealed that the news anchor had ditched her luxurious Manhattan home and relocated to a gorgeous property in Bronxville, NY, to enjoy a quieter lifestyle with her daughters, with the on-air anchor revealing that she wanted the girls to enjoy more “normality.”

Just days after Kotb left her co-hosts in tears by stepping off the “Today” set for the last time, she fulfilled her dream of walking her daughters to their nearby school—a seemingly simple, yet poignant, activity that she had previously revealed she was looking forward to the most after exiting her on-air position.

The former news anchor took to Instagram to gush about the sweet moment, while sharing adorable video and photos of herself taking her children to school.

Kotb posed for selfies with her kids and smiled from ear-to-ear before showing fans her large coffee mug. The mom captioned the heartwarming post: “School drop!! Let’s go!”

Prior to her departure, Kotb opened up about her desire to embrace a more laidback routine with her children at her new four-bedroom, five-bathroom, center-hall Colonial home while speaking to Today.com.

She revealed that she was excited to have a more “normal” day-to-day regimen after years of early mornings.

“I’m just going to let us be a family with a normal rhythm of life. See what we become,” the on-air celebrity, who will be replaced by Craig Melvin, said.

“I’m going to let [my daughters] take more trips and stay up a little later because part of the reason I put them to bed at that hour is because I’ve got to go to bed. I’m like, ‘Goodnight! Everyone’s going to bed.’ They’re like, ‘It’s 6:30!’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, lights out!’

She revealed that she already has her own schedule in place for how she will spend her time, because she didn’t want to end up without any structure in her life.

Kotb revealed she was excited to have a more “normal” day-to-day regimen after years of early mornings.

“I have it like a schedule because I wanted to frame a couple of days so I didn’t wake up and go, ‘Oh, I’ll do whatever.’ And then you’re like, ‘Huh?’” she shared. “So I kind of have my miniday planned.”

Kotb’s new routine begins with a workout class shortly before 6 a.m., which may sound early to some; but for the longtime TV host, who has spent years waking up at 3 a.m., it’s late in the day.

“I will still be sleeping in for two hours,” she joked, explaining that the early-morning exercise means she has time to get in some self care before waking her daughters up to get them ready for the day, then walking with them to school, an experience that she was incredibly excited about.

Kotb’s new lifestyle wouldn’t be complete without her charming home in the suburbs, which she closed on in April.

In August, the TV star explained that she had a vision when it came to finding the perfect family home, revealing in an episode of “Today” that she wanted to create a “warm and cozy” environment where her children could relax and find sanctuary.

“It’s all new,” she said of her move. “New kids, new school, new things, new everything. And it’s funny because all I could think of was I want my house for the kids to feel warm and cozy and a place where they want to hang. And that’s it.”

She added in an interview with People: “I want my kids to feel grass on their feet, and play in the yard, and ride bikes down the street, and run up and down the stairs.”

The serene and sunny spot was built in 1952 and sprawls across 4,000 square feet and recently got a refresh by local builders prior to Hoda and her kids moving in.

Now, that she has officially said goodbye to NBC, the mom of two will be launching her own wellness company at some point in the coming months and will spend at least a few hours a day working on that project.
