It almost feels like the calm before the storm in the case of missing siblings Jack and Lily. There have been no official updates from the RCMP in weeks— and it’s really odd. They went from giving regular updates to suddenly going completely silent.

One has to wonder: are they close to finding the children? Or perhaps on the verge of making arrests? One can only hope… and pray.

It’s important to remember that Malayah and Daniel were not the only adults on the property the morning the children allegedly vanished. Daniel’s mother, Janie, was also there. She lived in a trailer at the back of the property and likely saw and heard the children playing quite often.

However, it’s deeply disappointing that Janie has never spoken publicly— not a single plea to the media for the safe return of her step-grandchildren.

And frankly, Janie’s actions raised several red flags.

She didn’t want police to search inside her camper— allegedly because she didn’t want anyone around her dog. She also reportedly mentioned something about not wanting them to see a cupboard. Officers told her she was impeding the investigation and that they would obtain a search warrant if necessary.

It’s also been said that Janie was seen out on the road that morning, covering some potholes. That detail has fueled a lot of speculation online— with some wondering if she might have been covering up bootprints.

But now, we might finally hear Janie’s side of the story— straight from the source.

It’s been reported that she will be doing an interview with CBC News— the same network that interviewed Daniel, as well as the children’s paternal grandmother, Belinda. This could be major.

Daniel himself mentioned that his mother will lay out the full timeline in that interview. We also heard from Derwood previously, who had hinted that Janie would eventually speak out.

I, for one, can’t wait for it to air.

I’d love to know what she heard or saw that morning. I suspect she’ll also speak about Malayah’s demeanor— something many people have had questions about.

There is no official word yet on when or if the interview will air, but it’s definitely something to keep an eye on.

Some of the big questions Janie will need to answer include:

What exactly is her version of the timeline?

What did she see Malayah doing by the roadside that morning?

Did she hear or see the children at any point?

And why was she filling potholes— and could that have compromised potential evidence?

It’s now been over two months with no answers. No sightings. No confirmed leads.

And still, the two most haunting questions remain:
