BBC Breakfast presenter Nina Warhurst made a commitment about her phone habits during Wednesday’s edition of the programme.
BBC Breakfast star Nina Warhurst made quite the on-air vow during Wednesday’s show. While anchoring with Jon Kay, they covered a variety of updates including a piece on mobile phones.
Nina enlightened audiences that the first mobile phone call in the UK celebrated its 40th anniversary, having been made shortly after the stroke of midnight on New Years Day in 1985.
Following a segment that showcased the evolution of mobile phones, Nina committed to altering her own phone usage habits.
She told co-host Jon: “It’s been Pandora’s box, hasn’t it? it’s brilliant, but me and John (Watson) have just shaken on going an hour every day without looking at our mobile phones because we’re just on it all the time.”

Sports reporter John Watson agreed, confessing his tendency to incessantly check his device. However, co-anchor Jon Kay appeared baffled by their unique agreement.
Expressing his surprise, he remarked: “I thought you were committing to an hour a day on your phones max. Not an hour a day without a phone, without checking.”
While Nina acknowledged the difficulty of such a challenge, she affirmed: “That’s hard for me, to go an hour without looking at it. I’m going to try and do that.”

Elaborating on this commitment for the viewers, John discussed his personal aim to cut down on his overall screen time, asserting: “We can all agree to that, surely? It’s got to be a good thing.”
Nina is no stranger to social media pledges, as she admitted last March to cutting back on her online presence due to the constant scrolling habit, reports the Manchester Evening News.
