It’s not every day you go from small-town sports reporting to sharing an office floor with Dana Perino in New York City, but that’s exactly the trajectory Nate Foy has followed since joining Fox News in early 2022.
In a sit-down with Perino, the rising correspondent opened up about everything from life on the road to his guilty snack obsessions and surprising historical insights.

A Boston Boy at Heart
Foy grew up in Westborough, Massachusetts alongside three brothers who pushed him hard in sports — which, he jokes, he mostly lost. “After 18 years of competing with, and often losing to, my brothers… I decided to turn my attention to studying sports broadcasting at the University of Miami,” he told Perino.
His first job? One of the smallest TV markets in the country, St. Joseph, Missouri. From there, Foy moved to Fort Myers, Florida, gradually transitioning from sports anchor to hard news journalist, covering everything from Hurricane Irma to Super Bowl LIV.
Now he’s reporting from major events like the Trump hush money trial and the Buffalo mass shooting, and has even broadcast live from Lviv, Ukraine during the Russian invasion. “Interacting with the Ukrainian people during such a difficult and dangerous time provided me with so much perspective,” he said.
Life in the Big City — and on the Road
Moving to New York came with nerves. “The level of competition is what I love most about NYC and also what made me most nervous,” Foy admitted. But despite the fast pace, he’s leaned into the challenge.
Still, even the most seasoned traveler forgets something. And in Foy’s case, it’s always his face wash. “I’m always washing my face with hand soap in hotels,” he laughed.
And when it’s time to unwind? Foy’s go-to movies include The Prestige, The Dark Knight, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, ideally served with extra toasty Cheez-Its and pizza.
Books, Beliefs, and a Bit of Guitar
Foy isn’t just a reporter, he’s a thoughtful reader too. He recently finished Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now and is now working through The Gulag Archipelago by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
And for the history buffs: Foy revealed that Eli Whitney’s invention of interchangeable parts is his pick for the greatest American invention, not just for its industrial impact, but because the two share a hometown. “My elementary school was on Eli Whitney Street.”
In a more personal twist, he also shared, “I play a mediocre guitar and have written about 10 original songs.”
A Past Romance Kept Quiet
Though Nate Foy keeps his private life largely under wraps, there’s some digital trail hinting at a past relationship. In 2019, Foy shared photos on his Instagram account with Gabrielle Perez, a behavioral therapist and cosmetics enthusiast. The two appeared to be a couple at the time, and a 2024 report from rantiwife.com echoed that claim.
However, since those posts, Foy has shared no updates, and Perez’s recent social media presence, including TikTok videos showing her with a baby, suggests their relationship may have quietly ended.
A 2025 article from ceocolumn.com reinforces the uncertainty, noting that Foy hasn’t publicly addressed his relationship status in years. Whether single or simply choosing privacy, the Fox News correspondent seems more focused on his rising journalism career than sharing details of his love life.
What Keeps Him Going
Whether it’s covering crises or tasting the best Italian food in Boston’s North End, Foy is driven by purpose. “Reporting on the stories that matter most to our country and the world is a blessing I do not take for granted.”
