Something doesn’t make sense about the Lily and Jack Sullivan case — and maybe you can help me.

Lily and Jack Sullivan disappeared from their trailer off Gearlock Road in Lanstown Station, Nova Scotia, Canada. Their mom has been MIA since May 3rd — the day after they disappeared — which has the public kind of enraged.

Many people are questioning the statements from Malaya Brooks Murray — the kids’ mom — and their stepfather, or quasi-stepfather, Daniel Martel. They basically stated that these two very loud children managed to get out of the house without making any noise, got into the backyard, and somehow finagled their way out of the backyard and got lost in the terrain.

But I digress.

That’s not what this video is about.

What this video is about is the story that’s been rumored about why Malaya wasn’t staying at home.

Malaya has tribal connections. So many people wondered why she didn’t stay on the reservation.

Some have speculated that it had something to do with the tribe not accepting her two other children. But I’m not sure that’s accurate — because where was she staying before she met Daniel? These were still her children.

Many people are using that rumor as a way to justify why these children are gone — that they weren’t accepted into the tribe, and now with them missing, they’ve somehow been “accepted” into the tribe.

And I don’t know who’s passing that around, but again — where were these kids living before she met Daniel? They were living on the reservation.

Make that make sense.

Well, hello my beautiful people of TikTok. It is so nice to see you this beautiful Wednesday evening.

I’m Bullhorn Betty. I cover true crime, and I am covering the case of Jack and Lily Sullivan — missing out of Nova Scotia. They’ve been missing since May 2nd and haven’t been seen or heard from since.

While we don’t have any specific updates on their case, we do have some major talking points I’d like your help with. I just dropped a video asking for the audience’s help.

So, this is something that came up today. I was watching this video about this case — breaking it down from a detective YouTube site. You know how those go. I think it’s called Detective Myers or something like that.

One of my audience members sent it to me, and I hadn’t seen it yet, so I decided to review it. And it’s going through everything, you know, little by little.

And one point was brought up — and it was like a lightbulb went off.

Wait a minute — these aren’t Daniel’s kids.

Lily was three years old when they started dating. Jack was one. So, all this speculation that the “no foul play” crowd keeps pushing — that maybe the family took them because they weren’t accepted into the tribe and now they’ve been accepted — it doesn’t add up.

Because if you play the tape through, wouldn’t it be Meadow, the baby, that would need to disappear? Not the older two.

So long story short — something in this rumor doesn’t track.

These kids were already living on the reservation prior to Daniel. So who’s spreading this rumor that they weren’t accepted into the tribe and couldn’t stay on the reservation?

And who is now suggesting that with them missing, they are accepted — and Malaya can go back?

If she really had been kicked off the reservation, there’s more going on there than people are saying. And from my understanding, it’s pretty hard to get kicked out of a tribe.

Now, you can move — that’s different. But I also heard it’s very rare for a tribal member to be living in a trailer in rural Lanstown Station, Nova Scotia. That’s not common.

So this starts painting a picture of something else. Some other trauma going on in Malaya’s life — most likely before the children were born, or shortly after.

I don’t buy this narrative that family members took the kids so they could be “accepted.” Again, they already lived on the tribe before Daniel. They only moved in with him in 2023.

So if you think this is accurate — please provide supporting information. Because what I’m seeing says otherwise.

Sometimes, people want so badly to see the best in others that they start justifying things. And in this case, I think this whole “tribe acceptance” narrative is just a creative story. Not fact.

They have Native blood in them. Malaya is part of the tribe. So when has that not been enough?

I’ve never heard of someone being denied access to their tribe just because they had kids with a non-tribal member. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe someone who understands this better — someone from the tribe — can reach out and clarify.

Because I imagine it would have to be pretty serious. It sounds more like Malaya distanced herself from the tribe.

Here’s another thing. This is total speculation. Let me say it again for the people in the back: total speculation. Not fact. Not evidence-based.

But — how is this family supporting themselves?

She’s a stay-at-home mom. He’s working one day a week at the sawmill. That’s not enough to support a family of five. Can we agree on that?

Some say she’s getting money from the tribe. Okay — but the same people saying she’s kicked out of the tribe are also saying she’s getting money from the tribe.

That makes zero sense.

We’ve heard a lot about possible substance use. He’s only 20 minutes away from a big city.

Is he the local dope man? Is she?

I’m not saying they are — I’m just asking.

If you know Cody’s mom — Belinda — she seems pretty talkative. Maybe ask her how they were surviving.

Because it doesn’t sound like Cody (the kids’ bio dad) was sending support.

That trailer — that property — wasn’t rented. That’s Daniel’s property. He inherited it from his late father about a decade ago. Malaya moved in around 2023.

What made her move in? And why there?

Why not somewhere with better schools? Better access to resources? Why not co-parent nearby instead of retreating?

There were rumors of a house party the night the kids went missing. I’ve tried to corroborate it — nobody has confirmed it yet.

And there are troubling statements — reportedly from Daniel’s cousin — saying that after Meadow was born, Malaya stopped taking much interest in the older kids. That he was the one feeding them, dressing them, supervising them.

Meanwhile, on the news, Malaya said the kids never went outside without supervision.

So which is it?

I didn’t hear anything about children’s services before the disappearance. That might be due to Canada’s stricter confidentiality laws.

Honestly, I don’t even know if either of them has been arrested, charged, or has a criminal history. That stuff isn’t as accessible in Canada as it is here in the U.S.

So here’s my conclusion:

This idea that the children were taken by family to be “accepted” into the tribe — it just doesn’t hold water. And law enforcement has said it on record — there’s no evidence of a custody abduction.

That path has already been ruled out.

So ask the hard questions. Do your own research. Seek out the truth.
