A homeless man found living in an intricate setup inside a Philadelphia bridge was arrested for murder after police found a body floating in the river.
Roger Gosson, 61, was charged with murder after police found a gun inside his makeshift bridge home that they believe was used in a killing earlier this year, reported WPVI.
The body of Joshua Daywalt, 35, was discovered in the Schuylkill River near Kelly Drive on February 7.
A medical examiner ruled his death a homicide after revealing he had been shot in the back of the head, according to Fox 29.
Daywalt’s family said he was struggling with schizophrenia and was living ‘homeless and disoriented’ when he was killed.
Police executed a search warrant after receiving reports of a man living inside the Green Lane Bridge – the area where Daywalt was last seen alive.
Investigators were stunned to find the elaborate conditions Gosson had set up inside the bridge.
His living quarters consisted of multiple levels, an electrical hook-up to a battery and a fully furnished tent, according to the local news outlet.

Police also discovered a gun during their search, and Gosson was subsequently arrested.
Joe Antonini, who claimed to known Gosson, said he is a local man and former contractor.
‘He lost his company, he lost everything, and just living on the street,’ said Antonini.
Daywalt was a father-of-two who suffered from several mental illnesses, according his mother Jennifer Daywalt .
‘It was very tough to watch it. Joshua would’ve never been in the position he was in, or the place he was in, had we been able to stabilize him,’ she said.
‘He was a normal kid, he was a happy kid, and mental illness took him over.’
In his obituary, the heartbroken mother said her son was kind soul who once carried light and laughter before mental illness took over.
‘From a young age, Joshua was kind, intelligent, and full of life. He loved animals and was a brilliant artist. He loved to fish. Loved History. He was an amazing baseball player,’ she said.

‘Despite our endless love and constant desperate attempts to get him the help he so desperately needed, the system that was supposed to protect him failed time and time again.’
Jennifer told the local news station she was happy to learn of the development in her son’s murder case.
‘This is really good. I’m not going to lie, I’ve had a lot of revenge in my heart. And I knew we would get the person one way or the other,’ she said.
