‘Lilly & Jack Sullivan are on the reserve with their mom’, ‘planned abduction’ + misinformation
I’m going to address some comments and one particular theory that a lot of you seem to have. So, that’s the question — let’s go.
What we know about the search for missing N.S. children | CBC News
Before we get into that, I just want to highlight that there has been a vigil for Lily and Jack. This was held at the RCMP station a couple of nights ago, and I just want to play you a short clip from CBC:

“Tonight is about saying a prayer, and we’re going to light the way home for them.”

A paper lantern for four-year-old Jack. Another for six-year-old Lily. Released into the twilight sky as a beacon of hope.

“Illuminate the path for Lily and Jack. Guide their footsteps home.”

One by one, people placed candles, teddy bears, and angels outside the Stellarton RCMP detachment — a growing memorial as many questions remain unanswered.

“Investigators remain committed to exploring all possibilities surrounding the children’s disappearance. We want to thank all those who provided tips and information. Please know that we are fully engaged in finding out what happened to Lily and Jack.”

Some family members of the two children looked on as dozens of community members showed they care.

“It’s like every parent’s worst nightmare. You don’t ever want to have to go through something like this. And I think it’s good to show them that their community is here for support if they need it.”

Search and rescue volunteers have scoured a total of 8.5 square kilometers surrounding the children’s home. The latest search happened this past weekend, when crews focused on a pipeline trail where a bootprint was previously found.

Tell me what that’s been like — living here in this community and having to watch this unfold day after day.

“It’s hard, because with Facebook, you’re on it every morning checking to see if there’s an update. You go to the RCMP site to see if there’s an update, and then you hear about searches and your heart just breaks every time, because you pray that today will be the day they bring them home.”

Yeah. Every day, you think, “Today’ll be the day.” I do exactly the same thing — and I’m many miles away, in a different country.

When I cover a case like this, I get really invested. So I check multiple times a day to see if there’s an update, to see what people are saying. Just anything. Just grasping at straws — because I have absolutely no idea what happened to Lily and Jack Sullivan.

I don’t have one theory. And a month down the line, this is so unusual for me — not to have any idea. Normally by now in a case, I’ve got a dominant theory. I don’t necessarily stick with it — sometimes I do — but as new information comes in, I might change my mind.

That’s how investigation should work. You shouldn’t be married to any one theory — as I say again and again and again. But at least I usually have some idea.

In this case? Wandering away — possible.
Abduction — possible.
Foul play from someone close to the family — yeah, that’s also possible.

I don’t have any one theory. And that’s why in this case, I’m casting my net wide and discussing everything — because I don’t know what’s going to be important down the line.

So when an alleged cousin of Daniel, the stepdad, comes out and speaks, I’m going to talk about that. When family members post — maybe family members who don’t even know the children — I’ll still cover it. If you want to consider that misinformation, that’s your choice.

Some people in the comments have said I’m spreading misinformation and should stop. I’ve been giving a somewhat standard response, which goes something like this:

I don’t know what happened to these kids, and it’s deeply, deeply concerning.
Any piece of information that comes out — I’m going to consider it.

Now look, if it’s really wild — Bigfoot, aliens, psychics — no, I won’t cover that. Is it technically possible they were beamed up by aliens? I guess so. Is it likely, though? Come on.

But where someone comes out claiming to be a family member — unless it’s totally obvious they’re lying — I’m going to consider it.

I don’t consider talking about an alleged cousin misinformation. I don’t know what’s accurate and what isn’t. It’s not always possible to verify sources unless you literally DNA test everyone involved. If that person comes on camera, and people in the community recognize them — that’s some level of verification.

Some people in my comments said, “Yeah, that’s Logan, and yes, she is Daniel’s cousin.” Are they telling the truth? I don’t know. But I’m going to cover it — whether you like it or not.

So anyway, I want to get into this theory that a lot of people — especially yesterday — have mentioned. Variations on a theme, but all along the same lines. And honestly? I can’t discount it.

The theory goes something like this:

Malaya, the children’s mother, planned the children’s disappearance so she could go back to the reserve — arranged it with her mother, and took Lily and Jack with her. So they’ve orchestrated this “disappearance.”

But why would she do that?

If she wanted to leave Daniel and go back to the reserve, she could. Lily and Jack aren’t his. He has no parental rights. They aren’t married. So if she wanted to leave, wouldn’t she just… leave?

You might say, “Well, he does have parental rights over Meadow.” Okay. But if she left and said he was mentally abusive — even without proof — that would still be something.May be an image of 5 people, beard, child and text

I just don’t understand why she would orchestrate something that would put her in legal jeopardy. If it turned out she lied, that the children are safe and with her, that would be shocking — and disgusting.

Another theory: that Malaya’s mother planned it, to get her daughter away and under control. Took the children, then came to Malaya on May 3rd and whispered that they’re safe, and Malaya went with her.

Again — I can’t discount it. I don’t know.

But I don’t think people on the reserve would hide the children. Why would they? What would their motive be?

If Lily and Jack are being hidden, someone’s going to notice eventually. But in a case this cold after a month? Nothing? It’s heartbreaking.

Daniel went to the vigil. Malaya didn’t. None of her family did either. Some say it’s because of the hate online — maybe even death threats. And if that’s true: don’t do that. Don’t go real life.

If she’s guilty, it’ll come out. If Daniel’s guilty, it’ll come out. Don’t go real life on anyone. Talk about it, analyze it, speculate. That’s fine. But don’t attack people.

Daniel’s gotten a lot of hate too — and statistically, yes, stepparents are more likely to harm children than biological parents. But that’s not always true. We’ve seen so many bio parents do horrific things too.

So is Daniel innocent? I don’t know. I have red flags, yes — but there’s no real evidence right now. Just that bootprint. And they don’t even know whose it is.

This case has drawn comparisons to Summer Wells — and I agree. It feels like the Canadian version.

But in Summer’s case, there was some potential evidence — footprints, scent trails. A barefoot footprint found by a dog, confirmed by searchers, and a major overnight search followed.

In Lily and Jack’s case, there’s just nothing. No scent. A bootprint. That’s it.

So I’m going to keep covering this case like I’ve been doing. If you like it — thank you. If you’ve been watching my videos and haven’t subscribed yet, please consider doing so. I’m trying to get to 100,000 subscribers by the end of this year — and I think it’s doable. I’ve got about 12K to go.

And if you don’t like the way I do my videos? No one’s asking you to watch. But subscribe anyway. Why not?
