RCMP HUGE UPDATE in Lilly & Jack Sullivan case Nova Scotia remains are Justin MacDonald says dad 
It’s Thursday morning, May 29th.

As it’s been raining non-stop for almost the last three days here, the fields are too muddy, and I’ve run out of field footage to show while I’m talking. So, what you’re watching is from a search that Cassie, Kyle, and I did back in March for a missing local man, Darren Arm. Sadly, he was found deceased a few days after I filmed this footage.

What I want to do in this video is give you the latest update from the RCMP in Nova Scotia regarding the search for missing six-year-old Lily and four-year-old Jack Sullivan. They were reported missing by their mother around 10:00 a.m. on May 2nd. There have been many searches and a lot of investigative work.

I’ve criticized the RCMP for some of the decisions they’ve made—mainly that they’ve been very tight-lipped. I understand there are things they can’t say due to the ongoing investigation, but keeping the public informed is one way to reduce wild speculation. It won’t stop everyone, but people like me who report on missing persons and true crime cases try to stay close to the facts.

Yes, I speculate—and some people don’t like that—but when I do theorize, when I form hypotheses, I stay within the boundaries of what we know. Personally, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.

Now, after I recorded my video yesterday, the RCMP released a short video. I’m going to play that and then come back and give you my thoughts—because it does change the way I’m thinking about this case a little.

Before we get into that…
In yesterday’s video, I briefly talked about the case of Justin MacDonald, another Nova Scotian who has been missing since July of last year. Three men are currently in custody as their case moves through the courts—two charged with second-degree murder and one with manslaughter. Authorities were able to gather enough evidence to arrest, charge, and move forward with the case without Justin’s body being found.

Justin’s family has been relentless in their search. His dad has been going out daily. It’s truly a testament to them that they may have finally found Justin. Just the other day, it was announced that human remains had been discovered not far from where Justin’s vehicle was previously found.

It was actually his dad, Ken, who made the discovery. It’s heartbreaking—but at the same time, it gives the family the closure they’ve been desperately seeking, allowing them to lay Justin to rest with dignity. It also strengthens the case against the men charged with his murder.

Ken McDonald said:
“On May 26th, at 5 o’clock on Mory Road, while I was out searching with Steve… we found our son.”

Ken has been on a mission for almost a year now. His 34-year-old son Justin had been missing since July. He’s searched every single day—and he was the one who discovered the remains.

“I saw the shirt. I saw the skull. I searched around a little more, and then emotions took over. I called police right away.”

Police are still investigating and examining the area on Mory Road where the remains were discovered. One of the items recovered was a bracelet—now worn by Justin’s mother, Peggy. It was from one of his battle tournaments, and on the back, it says:

“Everything’s going to be alright.”

As of now, the remains have not been officially identified by the medical examiner, but the family is certain.

Police declared Justin’s disappearance a homicide back in November. Two men were charged with second-degree murder, robbery, and assault. Another man was charged with manslaughter and robbery. The support from the community, Ken says, has helped them through an incredibly difficult time.

“It’s emotionally draining… but it’s good, to a point, that we can now have a funeral. Before this, we never had that chance.
We’re bringing him home. We are bringing him home.”

The family will now focus on getting justice for Justin, with the case proceeding through the courts.

Again, it’s absolutely heartbreaking. But if it wasn’t for the family’s determination, Justin would still be out there, and this would remain a no-body homicide case.
It’s a reminder to everyone with a missing loved one: If you don’t search, you won’t find them. It’s that simple.

Now, turning our attention to Lily and Jack…
The RCMP released a short video update—only a couple of minutes long. I’ll play it in full, and then share my thoughts, because it really shifts how I’m viewing this case.

Frankly, I think the RCMP should have released this update sooner—unless they only just found the footage they’re referencing. Let’s listen to it first.

“As the missing persons investigation into the disappearance of Lily and Jack Sullivan continues, we are appealing to the public for additional video footage.

Investigators have collected hours of footage from areas surrounding Landown Station. Based on what we’ve gathered, we can confirm that Lily and Jack were seen in public with family members on the afternoon of May 1st.

We are now asking anyone who has dash cam footage or video along Gerlock Road between noon on April 28th and noon on May 2nd to contact the Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit.

Investigators remain committed to exploring all possibilities in the children’s disappearance. Over 355 tips have been received so far, and we are following up on them.

RCMP officers have formally interviewed over 50 individuals, with more interviews planned in the coming days.

Extensive ground and air searches began immediately after the children were reported missing on May 2nd, covering 5.5 square kilometers. These searches included hundreds of searchers, dogs, drones, underwater recovery teams, and aircraft. Searches continued on May 8th, 9th, 17th, and 18th.

Any future searches will be determined based on the course of the investigation.

Officers from various RCMP teams remain fully engaged and are using all available tools and resources to find out what happened to Jack and Lily.”

Now, in my opinion—this is huge.
It’s absolutely crucial to understanding where the RCMP’s investigation is headed.

They confirmed that Lily and Jack were seen alive with family members on Thursday, May 1st. That rules out any theory suggesting they went missing earlier in the week. That’s big.
It debunks theories involving a cover-up starting days earlier. We now know they were definitely alive and accounted for as of Thursday.

So why are they asking for dash cam footage starting from April 28th? If the children were confirmed alive on May 1st, why go back that far?
To me, that suggests the RCMP is now actively exploring the possibility of abduction. That’s the only explanation that makes sense. They’re likely looking for suspicious vehicles—trying to track every car that passed through Gerlock Road during that timeframe.

A neighbor nearby was interviewed and said the RCMP requested five days’ worth of trail cam footage—from April 27th through May 2nd. That neighbor lives three miles away, as the crow flies. So clearly, investigators are widening their net.

I’ve criticized the RCMP for being slow to do this. They should have asked for dash cam footage from the public much earlier—people may have already deleted that footage.

But based on this update, it seems like abduction is no longer off the table. In fact, I think it may now be their leading theory. And honestly, it’s mine too.
