Something has always been off with the behavior of the mother of missing siblings, Jack and Lily Sullivan. I also see some red flags in the stepfather’s behavior too. Although he is the only one speaking out to the media, front and center at the prayer vigil and keeping the children’s face and story out there.

Many online sleuths are suggesting that Daniel knows more and is covering for Mallaya. Soon after the children were reported missing, Mallaya moved out of the home she shared with Daniel and moved in with her mother. She also blocked Daniel on social media, which led many to believe that she was trying to push the blame on him or at least trying to set the stage for when the truth comes out.

Could it be that she is trying to set him up? She allegedly told police that she felt safest with him until she started talking to her mother. Mallaya then changed her mind completely and left with her mother. Eyebrows were raised again when Mallaya didn’t bother to show up at the one-month vigil.

Well, Daniel has now spoken out, and what he had to say is very interesting. Apparently, the grief has been overwhelming, and online speculation hasn’t helped. He asked that people put their focus around Mallaya and towards the kids. He wants everyone to stop attacking Mallaya because her mental health will be reflected on their daughter, Meadow. He doesn’t want anyone attacking Mallaya anymore.

Pictou County Warden Robert Parker says he understands a vigil may seem premature to some, but he feels it shows how deeply the community cares about Lily and Jack. Daniel went on to say that even after a month, it doesn’t get any easier.

“Your focus outward around Malaya and toward the kids. Don’t—don’t attack Malaya because her mental health is, you know, it’s going to be reflected on her daughter. So, I don’t want anyone attacking Malaya anymore.”
