Whoopi Goldberg Sparks Controversy by Slamming Jason and Kylie Kelce Over Newborn Finn Anna’s Podcast Appearances
In a surprising turn of events, Whoopi Goldberg has ignited a heated debate by publicly criticizing Jason Kelce and Kylie Kelce for featuring their newborn daughter, Finn Anna Kelce, on their respective podcasts, New Heights with Travis Kelce and Not Gonna Lie, just days after Kylie gave birth.
The outspoken co-host of The View took aim at the couple during a recent segment, accusing them of exploiting their infant for attention barely a week into her life.
The remarks have stirred reactions from fans and critics alike, shedding light on the intersection of celebrity parenting, media exposure, and personal choice.
Jason Kelce, a retired NFL star, and his wife Kylie welcomed their fourth daughter, Finn Anna Kelce, on March 30, 2025.
Known for their down-to-earth personalities and candid family updates, the couple wasted no time integrating Finn into their public platforms.
On April 2, Finn made her debut on New Heights, the popular podcast Jason co-hosts with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
The episode featured a heartwarming moment when Travis met his niece virtually, gushing over the newborn and nicknaming her “little muffin.”
Jason even placed a tiny pair of headphones on Finn, adding a playful touch to her cameo.
Not to be outdone, Kylie recorded a “Postpartum Special” episode of her own podcast, Not Gonna Lie, on April 1—just two days after giving birth.
Cradling Finn in her arms, Kylie shared raw insights into her labor and postpartum experience, introducing her daughter as a “very special guest.”
The episode, released on April 3, showcased Kylie’s signature humor and resilience, with Finn snoozing peacefully as her mother spoke.
For the Kelces, these appearances seemed like a natural extension of their family-oriented content.
New Heights and Not Gonna Lie have thrived on the couple’s authenticity, often blending personal anecdotes with their professional endeavors.
Finn’s older sisters—Wyatt (5), Elliotte (4), and Bennett (2)—have occasionally been mentioned on air, making her inclusion feel consistent with their brand.
However, Whoopi Goldberg saw it differently.
Whoopi’s Fiery Critique
During a recent episode of The View, Goldberg didn’t hold back.
“I’m sorry, but parading a newborn on podcasts and TV just days after birth? That’s not parenting—that’s a publicity stunt,” she declared, her tone dripping with disapproval.
“Kylie just pushed out a whole human being, and instead of resting, they’ve got that baby on Fox News podcasts like she’s the next big star. Let the child breathe!”
Goldberg’s comments appeared to conflate the Kelces’ podcast platforms with traditional media, as neither New Heights nor Not Gonna Lie is affiliated with Fox News.
Still, her point was clear: she viewed Finn’s early exposure as excessive and premature.
“These folks have three other kids—don’t they know babies need time before they’re on the mic?” she added, drawing a mix of nods and raised eyebrows from her co-hosts.

The critique escalated when Goldberg suggested the Kelces were capitalizing on their growing fame. “Jason’s retired, Travis is dating Taylor Swift, and now they’re turning their newborn into a prop.
It’s too much,” she said, referencing the family’s high-profile status.
The Kelce brothers’ podcast has soared in popularity since Travis’s relationship with the pop icon went public, while Kylie’s Not Gonna Lie has carved out its own niche, recently winning a 2025 iHeart Podcast Award for Best Emerging Podcast.
For Goldberg, this success seemed to fuel her suspicion that Finn’s appearances were less about family bonding and more about maintaining relevance.
The Kelces’ Side of the Story
While Jason and Kylie have yet to respond directly to Goldberg’s remarks, their actions suggest they’re unfazed by the criticism.
Both have built their platforms on transparency, often sharing unfiltered glimpses into their lives as parents.
Kylie, in particular, has been vocal about her postpartum journey, using her podcast to destigmatize topics like C-sections and motherhood challenges.
Recording with Finn in tow was framed as a testament to her strength, not a bid for attention.
“I just had my baby literally two days ago, and now I’m here talking about it,” she said in the episode’s teaser, laughing off suggestions that she might be “crazy.”
Jason, meanwhile, treated Finn’s New Heights cameo as a lighthearted family moment
