Police have altered a drug charge for Marcus Jordan, the son of NBA legend Michael Jordan, following his arrest in Florida earlier this month.

Jordan, 34, was stopped by police in Maitland in the early morning hours of Feb. 5 after getting his Lamborghini SUV stuck on train tracks.

The former UCF guard and current boutique sneaker shop owner exhibited signs of impairment and was reportedly combative with officers throughout the entire encounter.

At one point, police discovered a white powdery substance in Jordan’s pocket, which was suspected to be cocaine.

However, after further testing, the drug was actually determined to be ketamine, TMZ Sports reported Monday.

Initial testing gave a positive reading for cocaine, but subsequent examination by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement concluded it was ketamine.

“Considering the two substances feature the same color and texture, ketamine can often yield a positive cocaine reading … so it isn’t out of the ordinary, we’re told,” TMZ Sports wrote.

As a result, Jordan is now charged with possession of ketamine, not cocaine, DUI with property damage, and resisting arrest.

Oddly enough, there’s a chance this actually works out better for Jordan now that it was determined he had ketamine on him and not coke. Cocaine is a Schedule II drug in Florida, while Ketamine is only Schedule III.

Jordan pleaded not guilty to all three charges days after his arrest. He has a pretrial conference scheduled for his DUI charge on March 20.

For the most part, Jordan has remained quiet following this run-in with the law. He did wish his famous father happy birthday on social media on Feb. 17 and shared a short message with his followers on his Instagram story on Feb. 6, two days after his arrest.

“I appreciate everyone reaching out,” Jordan wrote. “I sincerely appreciate your concerns & thank you for your kind understanding.”

Michael Jordan, meanwhile, has not publicly addressed his son’s legal issues.
