While the wider basketball world was expressing concern after comedy legend Tracy Morgan threw up on the floor at Madison Square Garden last night, one famous rapper was clenching his stomach in laughter.

Taking to Instagram last night, rap legend 50 Cent teased Morgan that he must have had too much cognac before heading to the Garden for last night’s big Knicks game.

“Damn Tracy WTF going on bro, too much Branson cognac. LOL @lecheminduroi @bransoncognac @50centaction,” 50 Cent joked.

As insensitive as that may have sounded given that Morgan had to go to the hospital afterwards it was pretty clearly all in good fun and not meant to be malicious. Though users in the comments seemed to be mixed on whether to laugh with 50 Cent or tell him off about it:

“Throwing up courtside is wild,” one user wrote.

“Damn 50 already let him breathe for one second,” wrote another.

“At least someone was there to comfort him. I would’ve acted like I didn’t know him and got the hell outta there. That’s just me though.”

Morgan took to X on Tuesday to let people know that he’s doing better and was simply dealing with food poisoning. He joked that the team is now 1-0 when he throws up on the court so he might try to do it again during the playoffs.

“Thank you for all your concern! I’m doing ok now and doctors say it was food poisoning. Appreciate my MSG family for taking such good care of me and I need to shout out the crew that had to clean that up.

Appreciate you! More importantly, the Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court so maybe I’ll have to break it out again in the playoffs 😅 #goknicks,” Morgan wrote on Instagram.

It looks like he’ll be good to go come playoff time.

Though maybe he should cook some homemade meals before his next trip to the Garden.
