Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James’ 22nd season has been nothing short of impressive.

ESPN reporter Shams Charania reported that James suffered a groin injury in Saturday night’s loss to the reigning NBA champion Boston Celtics late in the second half.

James’s injury could keep him out for about one to two weeks.

There is no doubt that James has been playing at an All-NBA level, but James must compete in at least 65 games to qualify for league awards.

As of now, James has participated in 58 games and will need to play in at least seven more contests to be eligible.

The Lakers have 20 games remaining and it remains to be seen if James can make back it in time to earn a 21st All-NBA selection.

If James is out two weeks, he could miss the team’s next eight games and return on March 24 against the Orlando Magic. That would leave 12 games remaining on the schedule for James to play in at least seven.

James has played perhaps one of the best seasons of his illustrious career. He is averaging 25 points, 8.2 rebounds and 8.5 assists while shooting 51.7% from the field.

Furthermore, James on the defensive end has improved immensely, especially with the addition of Luka Doncic.

The Lakers acquired Doncic from the Mavericks in arguably the most shocking trade in NBA history back in February.

Doncic struggled in his first few games with the Lakers, but has since found his groove and has helped Los Angeles win eight out of their last 10 games.

Due to the addition of Doncic, it allows James to play off-ball and preserve energy on the offensive end.
